🍀 St. Patrick's Day Trivia Answer! 🍀 Historically, the color associated with St. Patrick was blue, not green. However, over time, green became more popular due to Ireland's nickname "The Emerald Isle," the green in the Irish flag, and the lush green landscape of Ireland. This month, we celebrate the Legacy of Balboa Park! On May 24, 1868, San Diego made a decision that would forever transform our city. The City of San Diego’s Board of Trustees (that's right, this was before there was a City Council) designated 1,400 acres just north of what we now know as downtown for a vast public park, making San Diego the second city in the U.S. to set aside such a large space for its citizens, after New York's Central Park. Originally named "City Park," it eventually became the beloved Balboa Park we cherish today. Balboa Park is not only a green oasis in the heart of our city but has also made a significant economic impact to our region. According to the 2017 Balboa Park Benefits Study, the park generated an impressive $2 billion annually for the local economy, attracting over 4.5 million visitors each year. This includes tourists who contribute significantly through spending on food, lodging, and experiences, resulting in 311,650 hotel room nights and generating $6.7 million in hotel taxes along with $3.2 million in local sales taxes. Today, these figures are likely even more substantial, reflecting Balboa Park's growing impact on our community. As we celebrate this milestone, let's reflect on how Balboa Park enriches our lives, supports our economy, and brings us together. Here’s to many more years of history, beauty, and prosperity! #BalboaPark #SanDiego #Community #EconomicImpact #BCCA

Fairfield County is home to some of Connecticut’s most picturesque coastal neighborhoods, each with its own unique charm and identity. Areas like Lordship in Stratford, Black Rock in Bridgeport, Southport in Fairfield, Rowayton in Norwalk, and Old Greenwich and Belle Haven in Greenwich stand out from their larger towns, offering a serene lifestyle that feels worlds away from inland living. These waterfront communities boast beautiful beaches, private harbors, and a distinctive seaside vibe. Whether it's enjoying a day on the water, strolling along a quiet shoreline, or soaking in panoramic views of Long Island Sound, life in these neighborhoods feels like an everyday escape. The nautical feel is woven into the fabric of the community—boats, marinas, and waterfront activities are part of the rhythm here, making it a haven for those drawn to the sea. Real estate in these areas tends to reflect the lifestyle—home values are often higher due to their prime coastal locations and the unique sense of community. However, it’s not just about the price tag. These neighborhoods offer a blend of history, charm, and stunning natural beauty, making them some of the most sought-after spots in Fairfield County. For anyone looking to combine coastal living with the convenience and culture of town life, these neighborhoods are true hidden gems worth exploring. #FairfieldCounty #CoastalLiving #WaterfrontHomes #NauticalLifestyle #ConnecticutRealEstate
