The cardiovascular team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare successfully implanted their first CardioMEMS heart failure monitor! ❤️ The CardioMEMS system is a small sensor placed in the pulmonary artery through a minimally invasive procedure. It continuously monitors patients with heart disease, alerting care teams to any worsening conditions. The device enables providers to proactively adjust a patient’s home medications, often without needing an appointment, which helps reduce hospitalizations. #CardioMEMS #Cardiovascular #HeartDisease

Whether it's thrombosis, infection or phlebitis, these complications can have serious consequences for patients and healthcare providers. Yet we keep using the same materials and expecting different outcomes. AVI catheters, using a first-of-its-kind material featuring MIMIX® technology, have shown significant reductions in failure rates and fewer complications in retrospective clinical studies. 🔎 Patients with Long COVID often report symptoms such as shortness of breath and fatigue, leading to a decline in their quality of life and physical fitness. There is growing evidence that these patients can benefit from personalized pulmonary rehabilitation (PR). However, most evidence is focused on patients hospitalized during their acute infection, and little is known about the impact of PR in non-hospitalized patients. In collaboration with Medimprove, Fluidda evaluated the impact of PR on physical fitness and QOL through comprehensive assessment and FRI parameters in non-hospitalized Long COVID patients. This investigation found that rehabilitation significantly impacted the (re)opening of the small airways, resulting in a decline in air trapping and recruitment of alveoli, leading to improved QOL and cardiorespiratory fitness. 👇🏼 You can read more about our study here: #covid19 #FRI #lunghealth

Every winter, clinics and hospitals see a surge of patients in need of respiratory testing. With so many pathogens circulating simultaneously with overlapping symptoms, getting the right diagnosis as quickly and efficiently as possible can make all the difference. When compared to the syndromic approach, traditional testing not only takes more time and leaves increased room for error, but it can also be more expensive for the healthcare organization. We break down how real-time PCR systems may significantly reduce hospital length of stay while improving patient care and avoiding serial and confirmatory testing. Cardiovascular disease (#CVD) remains the leading cause of death worldwide, as highlighted by the World Health Organization (WHO). According to the American Heart Association every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. will have a heart attack. This places immense pressure on healthcare systems, making advanced technologies and innovative treatment methods more important than ever to improve patient outcomes while minimizing risks. At VentriLabs, we are proud to be contributing to the development of tomorrow's life-saving medical equipment. Our innovative pump technology is developed with the patient in mind, aiming to enhance the safety and effectiveness of circulatory support systems to ultimately improve the treatment of patients in need of external circulatory support. #HealthcareInnovation #MedTech #CVD #ECMO #CPB

80% of people with #HeartFailure are only diagnosed after being admitted to an emergency room. Cardiac #biomarker tests can help bring clarity on the nature of symptoms a person is suffering from and identify if they can be attributed to #HeartFailure failure prior to an acute situation, enabling earlier intervention. By educating people at risk of heart failure about the early signs and symptoms of the disease, we can help improve their outcomes and reduce the burden on healthcare systems.
