Victory Capital, an investment management firm, completed the acquisition of Amundi US, a company that offers a broad range of fixed income, equity and multi-asset investment solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed. “This strategic relationship accelerates the globalization of our firm through a new global distribution channel. The transaction’s structure is carefully designed to closely align our common interests," David Brown, Victory Capital Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Don't let anyone fool you. The lateral partner market is alive and kicking. Biglaw firms are using the lateral partner market to re-define their mission statements and to bolster those practice areas they have determined to be the ones that will define them into the future. Case in point: Davis Polk has hired an Investment Management Partner from Simpson Thacher as part of its material growth initiative in their asset management platform. Leor Landa, head of Davis Polk’s investment management practice, said in a statement, “Chris (Christopher Healey) has extensive experience advising a wide range of clients on registered funds and ‘40 Act matters.
