I'm sure you all know what is a Parcel Locker Network, but do you know what is an Agnostic (Open) Parcel Locker Network? In our recent Out-of-Home Talk podcast with Peter Bonefeld Rønde and with the special guest Ricardo Carvalho from Bloq.it we are discussing the similarities and differences of the the Parcel Locker Network type. Link to the full episode here - https://lnkd.in/dsSnRQpG The distinction between carrier-specific and agnostic networks is crucial; agnostic networks require highly versatile software to manage multiple carriers, which poses unique challenges and opportunities for innovation. Agnostic networks can leverage location scouting more freely, choosing optimal sites without the constraints typical of carrier-specific networks, potentially increasing efficiency and service quality. The transition towards agnostic networks is seen as a potential standard-setting move within the industry, especially in markets like Germany where the volume and operational scale can significantly impact the success of such endeavors. It was also revealed that Bloq.it is the official partner for OneStopBox to provide the operating software. What do you think - What is the future delivery model? Is it: 1. Carrier specific parcel locker network 2. Agnostic (Open) Parcel Locker Network 3. Residential Lockers 4. Office Lockers Share your thoughts below.

Parcel Lockers Face Uphill Battle in North America Andre Pharand, a senior executive and advisor in e-commerce fulfillment, urban logistics, and last-mile delivery, has highlighted the challenges of parcel locker adoption in North America compared to Europe. During the Parcel+Post Expo in Amsterdam in 2023, Pharand noted a significant presence of parcel locker vendors, with 23 companies showcasing their solutions. However, at the Home Delivery World USA event in Philadelphia, only three vendors were present. Pharand identifies three main reasons for the struggle: Home Delivery Economics: In the USA, home delivery success rates are above 98%, and innovative solutions like leaving parcels in safe locations and using video doorbells reduce the need for lockers. Urban Planning: The lower population density in American cities makes widespread locker implementation impractical. For example, a locker in Europe might serve 250 people within 100 meters, while in the USA, it might only serve 40. Customer Convenience: Consumers value home delivery for its convenience, and driving to a locker location undermines this benefit. Pharand concludes that while parcel lockers might be viable in specific contexts, such as university campuses and densely populated areas, they are unlikely to see the widespread adoption found in Europe. #Ecommerce #Logistics #ParcelLockers #HomeDelivery #UrbanPlanning

Market Research Manager @ International Post Corporation | Market Research, international e-commerce
It was great to attend the #LiLLastMile24 this week in London. Loads of networking opportunities and many brilliant, inspiring speakers including Nick Landon, Alan Barrie, Francisco Travassos, Frank Croket, Sarah Hofmann, Jorin Aardoom, Jacek Powalka and Adam Tomczak. Key takeaways for me were: ➡Home delivery is still the preferred way to deliver in the UK and in many markets in Europe, but shift towards OOH is looming (in part driven by rise in C2C, cost concerns and sustainability). ➡It's much easier to produce parcel lockers than deploying a profitable parcel locker network - with limited volume, your locker may just be a very expensive, fancy "street furniture". Reliable volume comes from the biggest carriers and marketplaces. ➡Location struggles are not coming, they're already here - the number of physical stores (PUDOs) are not growing, but mostly declining, and cities notice that having a blue locker next to a red locker next to a white locker is not ideal for city aesthetics. Plus, most prime locations for lockers are already taken + landlords raise the rent. ➡Innovations in parcel lockers (air quality meters, battery/key exchanges, green cover, etc.) promise to transform them from "just" metal boxes to utility points serving local population. ➡Across Europe, a push towards open locker networks is "in the air". It will either come as a result of industry collaboration (happening already thanks to PostNL, CTT - Correios de Portugal, YEEP! Lockers, myflexbox and a few others) or via legislation. ➡Surprisingly, there was little discussion on improving what still is the industry standard across Europe right now (apart from Poland and the Baltics) - home delivery - apart from inspiring presentations on route optimisation from Bettermile and on in-home delivery by Österreichische Post AG. ➡Sustainability is not the main reason for using OOH. And the total sustainability gains are almost always conditional.

How your business #parkinglot impacts your bottom line. Increase sales by creating trust and customer first impressions with #sealcoating. Did you know that sealcoating not only enhances aesthetics but also improves functionality? By adding a fresh sealcoat, parking lots gain a visual boost through enhanced contrast, especially when accompanied by new striping. These striping and coating elements not only beautify the lot but also contribute to extending the lifespan of the pavement, enhancing overall usability. Here's how: ✅ Heightened Customer Trust: Ample and accessible parking instills confidence in customers, making them more likely to choose your business over others.. ✅ Increased Foot Traffic: A well-maintained parking lot attracts more visitors, leading to higher foot traffic and potential sales. ✅ Creating a Positive Image and Convenience: Businesses with professionally maintained parking facilities not only leave a favorable impression but also provide peace of mind to customers. This attention to detail reflects the high standards maintained throughout their operations But it's not just retail. Corporate and leasing businesses also reap the benefits of parking lot accessibility. In urban areas, where parking spaces are scarce, attached parking lots become crucial factors in long-term tenancy decisions. Investing in parking isn't just about asphalt and lines—it's an investment in business success and customer satisfaction.
