Thank you for supporting me

20th August 2024 Time: What is our conception of time? Some wish to achieve the maximum amount of work in the shortest time. Others simply desire to live a simpler life, allowing time to move forward at a much slower speed. For me, time is a passing commodity which will eventually run out and then someone else will worry about it. I schedule my ‘time’ to completes all those ‘important’ tasks, which leaves me more ‘time’ to do other things, like drink coffee with friends and socialize. I am privileged to live in a society, where my daily existence does not involve growing my own food and seeking shelter every night. I live in a nice house, with running water and electricity. I do not really struggle. My mind sometimes has different ideas, allowing time to drag or disappear too quickly. So, it is perhaps, my perception of time which is at fault and not time itself. In essence, I have too much time to think and worry about the trivial things in life, I do not always appreciate some of the wonderful events which happen and always seem to come in time, to change my day. ‘Time and tide, wait for no man’ (Chaucer, 1395) and on that note, enjoy your time today. https://lnkd.in/eXyX4cwx Chaucer, 1395, prologue to the clerk’s tale, accessed 20/08/2024
