CANNED WINES FROM PERLA DEL GARDA The first canned wine is being introduced by Perla del Garda, a top producer of the Lugana, Garda, and Chiaretto Valtenesi denominations. It’s called Perledellago, a white wine made from pure turbiana grapes, sourced from the estate’s vineyards in Lonato del Garda, manually harvested and fermented in steel. The aim of this initiative is to experiment with containers other than glass, which are 100% recyclable and lighter to ship, as well as to appeal to a younger clientele with different consumption habits. The format is 0.25l, with an alcohol content of 11%, and it is a still wine that also nods to the Pirlo, a historic Brescian cocktail made with white wine, Campari, and sparkling water. Will we see many other canned wines in the near future? Have you tried this one or other canned wines?

The words 'rosé wine' and 'fine wine' don't often feature in the same sentence together - and they really should! Yes, rosé wine can be light, refreshing and sometimes unpleasantly off-dry. However, it can also be oak aged, full-bodied, spicy and vibrant; or soft, slightly peppery & smelling of alpine strawberries with gorgeously beguiling hints of dried pot pourri, fresh herbs, rose petals and delicate spice. Join us as we taste the very best rosé wines from around the globe: rich, spicy Tavel in the Southern Rhone; soft, oak aged Rioja and Cigales in Spain; spicy vibrant wines of Greece and, of course, the very best of Provence.

One of the trends established in the production of Greek wines during the last 2-3 years, it is the Rosé Moschofilero. Dry rosé wines, such as Fileri 2022 by Nestor Wines that meet the needs of the modern market, global and domestic. Wines with clear varietal character with intense and pleasant aromas of roses, citrus fruits and stone fruits such as white-fleshed peaches with refreshing acidity and elegance, can meet the requirements of even the most demanding consumer who is looking for wines of a category - Rosé - which continues to move dynamically upwards. But another parameter of this trend - the Rosé Moschofilero - will be the return of the variety to its consolidation, as one of the greatest and most versatile variety of Greece, not only theoretically but also commercially. #moschofilero #mantinia #WineStyle #ThessalonikiWineShow #thessalonikiwineselfie #foodandwineexperience

One of my favourite small customer oriented enterprises in #venice is Classic Boats Venice . Not only are they knowleadgeable about the lagoon, its nooks and crannies and the many islands as they provide impeccable service to their worldwide Clients who visit. Their expertise does not stop at the friendly "floating hospitality" on classic vessels. They are savvy in the culinary arts as well as the rich diversity of local wines, as illustrated in this article written by #classicboatsvenice 's Director JP What could be better? Cin Cin!🍷 ---- *disclaimer: although I know the writer of the article, my opinion is not written under the magical influence of any of the wines mentioned in the article(too early in the morning).

Happy Friday folks! Its that strange weekend when the 6 nations seems like its just started and they get a week off. What are we to do? At some point I'll be trying these two wines that I bought from the latest Lidl Wine Tour. For the uninitiated Lidl have a small selection of wines they change every two months, although they do run out earlier sometimes. The wines are usually good examples of the style or region and very good value for money. Both of these were under £10. A South African Chenin Blanc. Dashbosch 2021. There are great wines coming out of South Africa and it has always been known for its Chenin Blancs. Usually stone fruits with honey and some floral notes balanced with good acidity. Tasty! The red an Australian Cabernet, Shiraz Merlot blend from the McLaren Vale. Wirra Wirra vineyards has been in existence since 1894. This blend first produced in 1972. This should be a big fruity mouthful of wine. What will be in your glass this weekend? #thewinecru #winelovers #weekendvibes #southafricanwine #australianwine

FRENCH WINES FOR NOVICES France is one of the world’s biggest wine producers. Its deep wine culture dates back to Phoenicians, Greek traders, and Romans. France has several designated world renown regions that produce under strict government controls superb wine,s pending on growing season, such as Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire Valley, Rhone Valley, Champagne, Alsace, Jura, Languedoc and Roussillon just to name a few. Now wines from famous regions cost more because of limited availability such as Burgundy, Champagne, and Bordeaux. Most governments try to extract more tax from alcoholic beverage sales constantly increase tax on all beverages but especially on sparkling wines. There are, however, several regions that produce huge quantities of wine and must price their products to sell them. Languedoc and Roussillon is one huge region on the Mediterranean Sea that has improved quality and kept prices low. Some French wines are now reasonably priced for novices and the bourgeoisie. Here are some I recommend for Ontarians and others living elsewhere. White wines: Gewurztraminer, P. Sparr, Alsace, $ 17.95 Fume Blanche Sauvignon Blanc, Francois Lurton, Vin the France $ 14.95 Hob Non Chardonnay, Georges Dubeouf, Pays d’Oc, $ 13.50 Reserve Spacial Viognier, Gerard Bertrand, $ 14.95 Chardonnay, Philippe de Rothschild, Vin the France, $ 13.95 Rose Invivo X, $ 19.95 Red wines Chateau Puyfromage, Bordeaux, $ 15.35 Belleruche, Chapoutier, Rhone Valley, $ 14.15 Sparkling wine Cremant de Loire, Chateau de Mongueret, Loire Valley, $ 19.95 PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
