WORLD KIDNEY CANCER DAY - WE NEED TO LISTEN Shared decision-making involves open communication with your healthcare provider. Even if there’s only one treatment option available, understanding what’s happening to your body empowers you with knowledge and helps you feel more in control. It is an individual choice of how involved in your care you want to be. Working alongside your healthcare professional and having open conversations can help to tailor care to your needs. Hearing from lung cancer patients, like Nichelle, reminds us these experiences are all too common, especially for underrepresented communities. For example, Black people living with lung cancer are less likely to receive early diagnosis or targeted treatments and have a lower overall survival rate compared to other ethnicities diagnosed with the disease. According to the American Lung Association, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths globally. Today, we recognize World Lung Cancer Day and raise awareness about this deadly disease, from diagnosis to treatment, and show our support to those who are affected by it, like Nichelle. At #JNJ, we are committed to collaborating, educating, and innovating in lung cancer to help change the trajectory of this disease. To achieve this, we’ve implemented initiatives and partnered with organizations to unleash the full potential of lung cancer science and help change the trajectory of this disease. In addition, we are relentlessly working to eradicate racial and social injustice as a public health threat by eliminating health inequities for people of color. I applaud Nichelle for taking control of her health journey and sharing her story. You can read more about her journey with lung cancer below. #MyCompany #Oncology #WorldLung CancerDay
Nichelle didn't meet the typical criteria for having lung cancer—but her symptoms told her otherwise. For World Lung Cancer Day, read about her journey to receiving a diagnosis and how to take control of your health. #LungCancerAwareness

Mass Tort & Product Liability Lawyer | Fighting for Justice for Victims of Dangerous Drugs and Defective Products
What is the latest on the Camp Lejeune Mass Tort? An important deadline is approaching in early August to file an administrative claim in the Camp Lejeune litigation - if you have any cases, please make sure to get them filed. At the end of March 2024 there were approximately 177,000 administrative claims filed with nearly 1,700 lawsuits filed. We are expecting over 200,000 total administrative claims before this is all said and done. There was a lot of excited about the early payment Elective Option when it was announced last year - but that seems to be more hype. So far only 51 cases have been identified to qualify for the early option and only 21 cases have settled and 9 offers have been rejected. This is not what everyone involved had hoped for. With track 1 case identified and work up well underway, focus is now on track 2 discovery cases that include: prostate cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and kidney disease. There is a case management conference up coming on April 26, 2024, and we will have a better idea on the government's discovery extension request, some track 1 schedule and hopefully an outline and schedule for track 2 cases. I always believed that the Government intended to see how many claims were filed before getting serious about resolution and that seems to be the case. #joedoeslaw #camplejeune #masstorts
