I am a big science fiction fan, but as an engineer have always preferred the harder sci-fi where the world has to be fully coherent and functionally believable. As a result, when fantasizing about making a "factory builder" game I end up with some inordinately complex ideas. 😊 I wanted to explore some of these so began prototyping an 'infrastructure base plate' that all factory elements would be built upon. This would provide various services; water, power, cooling, waste, and comms, to the buildings and handle distribution of them around the factory. All internal pipework and wiring is routed around to avoid intersections, there are valves and connection ports on all sides with access for the attachment and hookup process. #ProcGen #UnrealEngine #EngineeringPunk #HardSciFi
