🎙 I’d like to share this interesting interview published on Ultimo Uomo with Antonio Gagliardi: "Position, relationship: what do they really mean?" In the interview, which also references an article with the contribution of Francesco Bordin, key concepts for analyzing modern football ⚽️ are explored. An analysis that, in addition to being at the core of my thesis 📚 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀: 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹, https://lnkd.in/dqT2gBEE offers valuable insights 💡 into how football evolves and adapts over time 🔄. 📖 I hope this reading can inspire further reflection 💭 on concepts that have been central to my academic journey 🎓 as well. #FootballAnalysis #Tactics #FootballEvolution #Positioning #RelationshipInFootball #FootballInsights #AcademicJourney #Thesis #UltimoUomo

💫| David #Neres to #Napoli: David Neres is a Brazilian footballer who grew up in São Paulo and then established himself at Ajax, where he was noted for his performances, especially in the Champions League. He continued his career at Shakhtar Donetsk and then Benfica Neres is an agile and fast player with excellent technical qualities, especially in dribbling. He is able to play in different offensive positions, he likes to be free to roam all over the three quarters. In addition to the good unmarking skills, he is also useful in moving up the field and in offensive transitions, lending support both with support and directing duties and with insertions without the ball that can lead him to finish or finalize. - Differences with #Politano; - What he adds to Napoli's roster; - What he lacks to be a star player; You can find these and other topics in my full tactical analysis of the player on Napoli Network, here. ⬇ https://lnkd.in/dBnvB_cr

3 Things I learnt watching Italy at the European Championship 1. You cannot play (work) with fear: You must be fearless, you must go with a smile on your face and start as a winner, play as a winner and close as a winner. I saw deep fear on the faces of our players. Always retreating and worried. Already doomed before the kick off. 2. You must play hard and command respect. I remember the time when our defense was respected by everybody. I remember when we had players like Gentile, Brio, and then Maldini, Nesta, Chiellini, Gattuso. Now it is a joke to play with us. You must be a person of respect, on the field and outside. Today players go to the hotel to play with the playstation....or worst (betting on sports). Be serious on your work and outside. 3. Use your fantasy, be creative: When things are going wrong, when you are less strong, think how to use what you have at your advantage. Think how to win, even if the odds are against you. Football is an art and we won 4 world cups with our creativity. In our professional life, when things are going wrong, smile, and think how to win. Now and always "Orgoglio Italiano": https://lnkd.in/dR_pZEyk

Training ⚽️ for the non-possession, defensive phase: 🎯 The main objective of this themed game is the 1🆚1 defensive duel so one on one principle, I want to train this aspect in all its forms so I used a game where the focus will be on all types of variation i.e. front, side, rebound, back, shoulder and air. Other goals for the defender 🛡 to consider are Positioning ✅ Supports ✅ Type of running. 4v4 + 2 goalkeepers, field 24m wide and 40m long with two regulation goals. To maximise fencing situations ⬆️, fewer players per team are selected. The rules of this game are that players in possession of the ball, in the attacking phase, cannot play with one touch first, but must make at least two touches or ➕ touches. This restriction obviously acts as an incentive for the player with the ball to create dueling situations, and at the same time for the defender to have more time to be able to surprise. 🚫 The only exception to this rule is a shot on goal, in which case the player can shoot on the fly, i.e. before or after as many touches as he wants. This is because I want the defender in such a dangerous situation ⚠️ not to ‘relax’ knowing that the attacker has to take more touches to shoot, thus accustoming him to be aggressive in all circumstances. When the ball is out of play, corner kicks and penalty kicks are usually executed in such a way that all kinds of inconsistencies appear, even the often forgotten aerial ones. All goals are worth 1, but in the non-possession phase each player earns 1 point for each contrast they win ☑️. If each of the four movement players on a team scores at least 3 points, they score a goal. This rule motivates all team members to win their duel and actively participate in the non-possession phase with the aim of regaining the ball or otherwise stopping the opponent's movement. #FIFA #UEFA #ChampionsLeague #coachmoulayali
