🌴 Since 2014, ASI has been responsible for overseeing the work of Certification Bodies for the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a partnership that contributes to sustainable palm oil production. Over the past 20 years, #RSPO has united to transform the global palm oil sector. This initiative is inspired by our shared vision of a sustainable industry that benefits people, safeguards the planet, and promotes prosperity for rural communities worldwide. We join RSPO in celebrating the significant milestones of the past two decades – from conserving over 360,000 hectares to date under RSPO Principles and Criteria Certification, to remediating over 100,000 hectares of land and improving the lives of over half a million workers in the global palm oil industry under the RSPO certification system. Given our mutual commitment to fostering stronger partnerships, we are enthusiastic about building on our progress and driving a more sustainable future. 🌴 The subject of palm oil creates a lot of debate, but we believe there’s a positive way forward for the industry. And we're not alone in this. The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) awarded us a score of 8.5 for our work to advocate for the use of sustainable palm in the dairy industry (much higher than the average for our sector). 😊 But while we couldn’t be prouder, there’s always more work to be done. 💪 We look forward to continuing to play a part in spreading the word about this important global topic. Who else is heading to The Sustainable Palm Oil Dialogue Europe 2024? In the 16 years I've been working in #Sustainablepalmoil, this will be the first time I've headed to mainland Europe for a conference. Really looking forward to meeting Conal Judd-English and Rose McCulloch from Efeca | B Corp certified 2023 in person, and catching up with Lior Torenberg and Geza Toth, Ph.D. from CarbonSpace. Also keen to see Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)'s prisma system in action - could be incredibly useful for businesses that need to comply with EUDR and UKDD.

🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of RSPO and a Decade of Impactful Partnership This week, we proudly commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Our heartfelt congratulations to our RSPO colleagues and friends from all of us at HCV Network. We also commemorate a decade of partnership between our organisations.    🤝 A Decade of Collaboration: • High Conservation Value (HCV) Identification: Together, We’ve meticulously reviewed assessment reports for over 2 million hectares of land earmarked for oil palm production. These efforts ensure sustainable practices and protect critical ecosystems and the basic needs of local communities. • HCV Designation: Over half a million hectares have been designated for the protection and management of social and environmental HCVs. This commitment reflects our shared vision for a greener and fairer future. • Capacity Building: 45 licensed assessors have undergone rigorous training and 400 professionals have been trained in HCV-HCSA assessments. Their expertise ensures quality HCV-HCSA assessments, driving positive change. 🌎 Looking Ahead: As we celebrate these milestones, we eagerly anticipate the next ten years of collaboration. It’s the 20th anniversary of palm oil watchdog RSPO – but 20 years of failure is nothing to celebrate Today (8 April), the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RPSO) – the main voluntary certification scheme for palm oil – will be 20-years-old. The industry watchdog is meant to assure consumers that palm oil bearing its stamp of approval is free from environmental or social violations.
