With non-alc currently booming. I thought it would be interesting to see how the UK non-alc beer category has evolved since 2005.   A few of the most interesting insights I found included: - In 2005 the category was made up of just 7 brands! 🤯 - Only one brand has been in the Top 10 every year (Becks Blue) 🔵 - The category has only seen YoY sales decline once (2016) 💪 - Average CAGR of 16% 📈 - Guinness' £13.7m YoY growth in 2023, was the most of any brand ever 💷 - Only 3 brands have topped the list (Kaliber, Becks Blue & Heineken 0.0) 🥇 - However, I'm pretty sure Guinness 0.0 will top the list in 2024 🌟   You can check out the full evolution of category in the data visualisation below. Diageo lost market share in 70% of its portfolio in the six months to the end of December 2023. However, the business will not resort to leaning on price promotions to drive “short-term” share growth at the expense of brand equity, its CEO Debra Crew said. Driving market share growth has been outlined as a key priority for Diageo as it reported falling sales in the first half of its financial year. I just wanted to finish the week with this. It has nothing to do with the internal work we're doing at Done Properly but I wanted to highlight it anyway because this is one of the clearest examples of how an internal culture decision affects the end consumer's perception. Often in the development path of Raise, we were asked why we didn't go to all the other breweries in Chile or the world to scale the project. Although the answer was always based on commercial and technical data, there are moments where decisions are also based on softer things, like the vision of the company and how that permeates throughout the organization. With AB InBev, we want the same thing and our organizations work with a common goal: Make the food industry more sustainable. We have differences in scale and work methodologies, but I am sure that if any Done Properly employee sits at a table with an AB InBev employee, they will talk about the same sustainability aspirations. And that makes all the difference. I am glad that this culture is well received by consumers where 8 of the 10 most recognized beer brands in the world are part of AB InBev. Our partner in crime.
