When it comes to data, seeing is understanding. This was a foundational principle of Row64 we’ve stayed true to and have used every tool at our disposal to make data analytics and visualization real-time responsive—no matter the scale. Why real-time? Apart from saving companies hundreds of hours annually from dreaded “software lag”, real-time responsive charts allow you to select and drill down at the speed of thought. No more using high-end resources just to summarize or sample large data sets, or cobbling together different programs to get results. In this example below, we highlight several compelling use cases of how this can be implemented in a business context: 1. Using a lasso tool to select parts of a power grid across the state of California and find the operational status, ownership and municipality of all transmission lines in the state. 2. Zooming in on Korea’s 13.5 million roads to get real-time data on concentrations of restaurants, bars, etc. for demographic research. 3. Data manipulation with a giant HR org chart to visualize acquisitions or the skill flow of the organization for anything from audits to strategic workforce planning. There is truly no limit to the scope or utility of real-time data. Do you have a large dataset you want analyzed and visualized in a more time/cost-efficient manner? Send us a DM to be featured in our next video or to try out the software for yourself. #dataviz #businessintelligence #GPUs #bigdata

Just got off a call with a client. It's really important to them that their data is fresh and timely. They run client-facing reporting and dashboards, and some regulatory and tax filings based on the data. I'm grateful to Alexander Shea and Ben Stewart for getting our platform to the point that we can easily show clients where their bottlenecks are (the green bars show relative time each table takes to sync). Because our business model is around managing Data Assets (not projects and hours), we are able to have ROI-based discussions and decisions with clients. You can see from the image that we've already implemented concurrent/parallel runs for this particular Data Source extraction. Today's conversation centered around options Datateer could provide vs options the client can implement internally, all centered around cost vs benefit. It is so awesome to be at this point with our platform #BuildInPublic #Data #Analytics (Image comes from Prefect a great product and partner that is core to our platform)

'Flexibility' to work with any data, or any data type quickly and easily is paramount when carrying out analysis and investigations in a rapidly moving environment. In today’s data-driven world, graph visualizations have become essential for uncovering connections and patterns within complex networks. However as soon as you start adding different data types, sources and properties these solutions often fall short and start to hinder the user at best, leading them to false assumptions at worst. Whatever solution you use should allow you for flexibility in regards to creating or importing unknown types and properties to quickly carry out visualisation and triage of the data and the network. To learn other things to look for in any solution before bringing different data types together or introducing more complex analytics, check out our full blog (written by i2's Jamie Caffrey & Adam Etches) here - https://lnkd.in/g-AzWwzj - #i2Group #IntelligenceAmplified

What if you could interrogate your data, just by asking? For many teams, getting answers to even straightforward questions can take days or weeks, relying on static dashboards and coordination across multiple teams. DataChat changes that. Business users and non-technical analysts can ask questions of the data they already have access to, interact with it in real-time, and uncover insights faster to make confident decisions. Stop waiting on your data—start interrogating it. #InterrogateYourData #SpeedtoInsights #DataAnalytics

Usually, when I discuss self-service analytics, I come up with more reasons why I'm not a fan. For my latest rant, I noticed a trend when self-service is discussed. I hear a standard set of use cases for self-service. "Would it be nice if analysts could look up for themselves...." ➢ Revenue by quarter ➢ Top customers ➢ Top selling regions/locations. If your company still needs answers to these, you have a problem. These basic use cases were solved years ago, and any basic selling platform can provide them out of the box. Should we have a data team working on building out a platform that answers questions used in vendor demos? If we spend so much time and resources on building data platforms/ assets/ products, we should work on the most valuable use cases. Allowing anyone in the business to create anything because of their curiosity is not a valid use case. Also, consider that the examples (which are usually revenue/sales-based) I mentioned above are outcomes. They should be used to measure the effectiveness of a business initiative. ➢ New product launch ➢ Entering a new market ➢ Reach out to a new customer base ➢ New marketing campaign ➢ Revised customer retention strategy This is when we leave the self-service space. What are the corporate initiatives that business functions are working on, and performance is measured against them? How does the data platform/ assets/ products you're building help with them? As a data team, wouldn't you rather demonstrate how your work aligns with the business initiatives of your business partners?

All time Super Data Brothers show guest Aaron Wilkerson shares the spiciest take of all - why self-service analytics don't work. Some reasons why: 😀 Business people don't wanna do it themselves 😂 Business people can't do it themselves 🤣 Business people really, really just want you to do it for them There's more to it than that but, from Aaron's perspective, there's no way to square this circle - most people just want the data nerds to give them what they need without asking. #selfservice #businessintelligence #analytics #spicytakes #businessusers https://lnkd.in/e-fSnhTP
