Every year, Goodwill taps a handful of designers to present at its annual gala. Last year’s designers included Tommy Hilfiger and Todd Snyder. This year, Rowing Blazers founder and creative director Jack Carlson was of the gala’s featured designers. Working with his mentee, Parsons student and CFDA scholar Léo Guarin, Jack scoured Goodwill thrift stores across the city. They then repurposed their finds to create ten unique pieces, which are be auctioned to benefit Goodwill’s programs for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. The pieces include an overcoat with striped binding made from an upcycled shirt; a blazer made from a striped sweater and grosgrain binding from a children’s raincoat; a deconstructed tie; trousers made from a thrifted tweed coat; and a two-tone anorak featuring yellow nylon and green bouclé. The looks were modeled by longtime Rowing Blazers models Camille Opp and Hella Tall at Goodwill’s annual Evening of Treasures Gala, as Jack took the stage alongside the evening’s other honorees and featured designers. Bidding on the pieces is open for two weeks. Link below to bid. https://lnkd.in/eVb2mZRY
