What does a bounce house, corn hole, water balloons, goats, candy, hot dogs, chicken BBQ and the sound of 80s music all have in common? The Roxbury employee family picnic that’s what! We value our employees and consider them part of our family. Our leadership team served yummy food as the kids jumped in the bounce house and got into a fun water balloon toss. A local petting zoo also provided a small heard of goats for everyone to enjoy. The day was capped off with a candy scramble where everyone went home with bags full of sweets. Thank you to all who helped out and all who attended! If you are interested in joining our family, please apply on our website, roxburyhospital.com.

As a product designer, I am passionate about translating user insights into elegant, intuitive solutions. By combining empathy, creativity, and perseverance, I craft products that deliver transformative experiences.
I want to start this week by sharing a personal story that reminded me of the importance of celebrating small wins in our lives and careers. My wife has been trying to make popovers, a type of pastry that requires a lot of precision and patience, in our smart oven. She has done this numerous times. She followed the recipe and the instructions, but they never came out right. They were either too flat or too dense. She was about to give up, but she decided to give it one more try with the traditional oven. And guess what? They were perfect! They were golden, crispy, and airy, just like the ones we had at a bakery. We enjoyed them with some butter and jam, and it was a delicious treat. This made me think about how sometimes we overlook the small wins in our lives, and how they can have a bigger impact when they add up. The same goes for our jobs. What we do sometimes might seem small in scale or scope, but every win is important and contributes to our overall goals and vision. That's why I think it's important for managers to recognize and appreciate the small wins of their teams, and celebrate them together. A team that grows together, wins together. A team that celebrates together, stays together. So, I want to ask you: What are some small wins that you are proud of this week? How do you celebrate them with your team? Let me know in the comments below, and let's spread some positivity and gratitude!

Reposting this incredibly clever and creative 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗿 campaign, originally shared by an old coach of mine, Amanda Blesing FARPI. This ad artfully turns our everyday encounters with unconscious biases into a playful spectacle. Misjudgments are a constant presence in our lives, whether it's in the pub, workplace, or the street. These mix-ups aren't inherently gendered, yet they persist with surprising regularity. These commonplace confusions might seem inconspicuous, but they quietly bolster stereotypes. Kudos to the creative masterminds behind this campaign, delivering a round of applause! 👏 This showcases a brilliant use of humour to foster social change (and perhaps, boost beer sales in the process). 🍺 Here's to celebrating diversity and challenging stereotypes! 🍻 #UnconsciousBias #HumorForChange #Inclusivity #RefreshingPerspectives

I absolutely ❤️❤️❤️ how this playful 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗿 campaign has captured our attention with every day unconscious biases. Mis-assumptions happen all the time, whether they’re - Beer vs bubbles - Flat white vs latte - Burger vs salad None are gendered but are constantly mistaken. These sorts of interactions are so normal that we almost don’t notice them, yet they keep perpetuating stereotypes. I knew a woman who drove a muscle car while her partner drove a Prius. Can you imagine how this confuses the unwary parking attendant? Well done to the creative team 👏 What a great use of humour to create social change (and sell a bunch more beer one might assume). Ever had this happen to you? 😱 And how do you respond without being rude? COMMENTS 👇 Bottoms up 🍺 #leadership #genderequity #careers www.AmandaBlesing.com

Host of Readers of the Pack | Professional Certified Coach Igniting growth conversations for leaders and teams.
It was joyful to watch a great team in action over Christmas…and the magic seemed to be in playing to their strengths. My youngest son is an amazing cook and loves it…so he cooked up a feast. My daughter-in-law is very creative and organized, and had us all playing crazy games…with prizes so competition was high…as was the laughter and fun quotient. Our youngest granddaughter created a charcuterie board for snacks Christmas Day —-and the eldest created one on Boxing Day. The youngest grandson set the table for supper, took garbage out, took dogs out, etc… two of us put food away, loaded the dishwater, etc…and our youngest granddaughter(18) made short work of the pots/pans (her happy place) and left the kitchen sparkling clean. Ten people went to bed full of great food, love in their hearts and a strong connection to family. Do you intentionally play to your team’s strengths? It can pay huge dividends. #leadership #strengths #success

Three years ago we were celebrating the British public rather unexpectedly voting Mash Gang the best new brewery in the UK, six months after we started. In the acceptance video I had a big bleached beard I'd done to play Santa for my kids and you can see my left eye is red as I'm in the midst of a uveitis attack. We'd lived in Scotland for two months at this point, having left London the day after our launch party at Brewdog Old Street, the day before the second lockdown. It was incredibly odd to suddenly even be mentioned in the same breath as people like Good Karma and Lucky Saint. We've grown a wee bit since then though and have made lots more friends. 2024 will be an incredible year for Mash Gang, we have a massive announcement coming in January that I don't want to spoiler, and legally probably can't, but it'll be a special moment for everyone who's been part of our journey. So, I'm going to take this moment, at the end of a year and right before the Henny goes in the freezer, to drop some thoughts for the year ahead: 1. Do it. We started Mash on a whim and it's changed many people's lives and created jobs and such. If you want to do something, just do it. You'll find time, you'll find money. We started Mash with £5k in a global pandemic with zero experience in no alc beer, chances are you're already more qualified, have more resource and a less end-of-worldy opportunity than we had. 2. Whatever it is, do it for you. Last year I ran my first half marathon because I wanted to see if I could do one. Next year I'm going to probably not do a full one, because I'm probably going to work on my vertical jump as I want to dunk for the first time in twenty years. 3. Focus on improvements to your own character and craft, rather than chasing external junk like clout, bag and blah. Try out several therapists until you find one who challenges you. Stop doing courses and diplomas and blah, instead invest the time in finding new things to love that inspire you to do great work. 4. Ask every question. The cornerstone to confidence is knowing that everyone is an idiot. Spend enough time with the greatest minds and you'll learn they all accidentally fart in a quiet office, stumble to answer basic questions on things they're an expert in, and at least once a year will knock over a nearly full cop of coffee all over something important. Better to risk looking like an idiot for a moment and learn something potentially lifechanging than sit in silence and risk being an idiot forever. Happy new year! 💜 #MenWhoLookABitLikeSantaButMoreLikeARacoon #Inspirational #Leadership
