Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay, with the theme of changing the narrative on suicide. Globally, more than 700,000 people die by suicide each year, making it a major public health challenge. As #psychiatrists, we are dedicated to delivering comprehensive mental health care and working to prevent #suicide. Yesterday marked the release of the Final Report from the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide, highlighting the need for improved cultural practices and better access to mental health resources within the Defence community.  The College made a formal submission to the Commission, emphasising the need for improved access to #psychiatriccare for serving members and veterans.
