"The nautical industry and the AGEC Act: what to do with pleasure boats at end life?" 📢 Sustainability, preservation, and conservation of the environment... These are key concerns in every field today. And in the marine industry. 💡 The Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Act (AGEC) introduced a series of measures to transform the linear economy into a circular economy. 👀 We'll see in this article that the impact on players in the marine industry is major and complex. We'll also explore how the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes are being organized to meet these challenges. 👇 https://lnkd.in/d_qZ2cic

We are proud to announce another milestone in our sustainability journey! GEMINOR's Storøy waste wood facility in Norway has completed its decarbonisation project. In 2023, our Storøy facility processed around 20,000 tonnes of waste wood for recycling into panel boards, per the EU circular economy action plan. By phasing out fossil fuels and shifting to clean energy, we will cut local emissions by 170,000 kilos of CO2e annually, equal to a car circling the Earth’s equator 17 times. The new electrical infrastructure will enable us to deliver more waste wood for recycling, moving waste solutions higher up the hierarchy. Great work by our General Manager, Petur Thor, and operations manager, Grzegorz Swora, at our Storøy facility! The link to the full news story is in the comment section.

Proud of the team for making a significant leap forward on our road to decarbonisation. We have been looking at our hubs across Geminor and seeing how we can reduce our scope 1 emission in line with our net zero target in hub operations by 2030. Electrification in our operations isn’t a simple task, requiring collaboration across group. By looking at our investments from an environmental perspective as well as financial, we can better align with EU taxonomy, CSRD, and making sure we develop responsibly and sustainably
