2024 Wrap-up! In our inaugural year, 1up Counseling Services proudly delivered 188 counseling sessions to nearly 20 clients, with 85% of those sessions occurring in the last six months – we are growing! As a start-up, our financial gains were modest, but we remained committed to our mission. We donated over 10% of our earnings to charitable organizations that support individuals with intellectual and developmental differences (IDD) and families in need. A heartfelt thank you to all our friends, family members, and everyone we collaborated with this year. We are excited to see what 2025 has in store for us!

The RSPCA & Hospice UK are just two of thousands of charities who have now signed NCVO ‘s open letter to the Chancellor, expressing alarm at the potential impact on services of the rise in employer national insurance contributions from April. I was therefore pleased to appear on BBC Breakfast this morning with Chris Sherwood, to spell out the obviously disastrous consequences on hospices and indeed the whole of the UK’s charitable sector, if exemptions or other mitigating actions are not forthcoming.
