Panax notoginseng introduction: Compendium of Materia Medica Supplements (1765) states: "Ginseng is the top herb for qi supplementation, and Panax notoginseng (Sanqi) is the top herb for blood replenishment. Their taste and effects are similar, which is why it’s called 'Ginseng Sanqi,' making it one of the most treasured herbs in traditional Chinese medicine." Panax notoginseng is a hemostatic herb, derived from the dried root and rhizome of the plant belonging to the Araliaceae family. Sanqi has a sweet and slightly bitter taste, is warm in nature, and aligns with the liver and stomach meridians. With its slightly bitter dispersing quality, sweet warming effect, and dual action of dispersing and supplementing, it acts on both the liver and stomach meridians. Sanqi is powerful in stopping bleeding and resolving stasis while tonifying deficiency, making it unique for halting bleeding without leaving stasis and promoting blood circulation without depleting qi. It is effective both internally and externally and can be used for any bleeding or stasis, particularly suitable for individuals with cold and deficiency. For those with excess heat and no deficiency, it should be paired with herbs that clear heat and cool blood. Sanqi contains total saponins, including ginsenoside Rb1 (dammarane type) and ginsenoside Rg1 (oleanane type), as well as flavonoids, starch, and protein. It possesses anti-shock, anti-inflammatory, and anti-arrhythmic properties, enhances adrenal cortex function, dilates coronary arteries, promotes collateral circulation in the myocardium, improves microcirculation, disperses stasis to stop bleeding, reduces swelling, and relieves pain. Sanqi is widely applied in pharmaceutical production for cardiovascular diseases, coronary heart disease, cerebral embolism, hyperlipidemia, traumatic injuries, and more. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is often used to treat cardiovascular diseases, traumatic bleeding, gynecological conditions, and other ailments. Medically, Sanqi can be processed into herbal slices, medicinal wines, and ointments. Sanqi powder offers numerous therapeutic effects, including stopping bleeding, promoting blood circulation, replenishing blood, resolving stasis, generating blood, anti-thrombosis, anti-inflammation, liver protection, and cardiovascular support. 【Evaluation of the Potential of Araucaria angustifolia Seeds as Source of Oligosaccharides, Resistant Starch and Growth of Probiotic Bacteria】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/g9jZWHTH (Authored by Rossana Catie Bueno de Godoy, et al., from Embrapa Forestry (Brazil), etc.) “Pinhão”, the seed of Araucaria angustifolia, is a historical and cultural food in Brazil. It has gained the attention by researchers because of its high nutritional value, and contain resistant starch, dietary fiber and minerals such as magnesium and copper. This work investigates the #oligosaccharides and #resistant_starch contents, and the biometric parameters of three varieties of Araucaria angustifolia that differ in the coloration and maturation season of the seeds, and evaluates probiotic bacterial growth using starch as the carbohydrate source.

🌟Proud to share a new article recently published related to our unique aquaculture products 🌊The study highlights the benefits of incorporating Zooca® Hydrolysate to enhance diet attractiveness for Whiteleg Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). 🦐🔬The results demonstrate that diets containing 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴 were more attractive to the shrimp, leading to increased feed intake compared to diets without it. This suggests that Zooca® Hydrolysate has properties that can enhance the palatability of shrimp feed. These findings have implications for optimizing shrimp aquaculture practices by improving feed intake and potentially enhancing growth performance📈. At the interface between man, animal and environment, the use of phytobiotics in agroecology practices has been developed as one of the most effective nutritional strategies for animal performance, health, and well-being. Chirine Brinsi and co authors have studied the nutritional value, phytochemical properties of different parts of Dill and their effects on in vitro digestibility in ruminants. In this article, we will be discussing about the digestion process in the ruminant animals. The ruminants have a digestive system that is quite different from the monogastric animals. The rumen consists of pillars, rhythmic contraction of these pillars causes the rumen to contract and expand leading to a mixing of its contents. #Ruminants

2moAn interesting read but note of caution for foragers and mycologists remember that lion's mane is one of the few fungi protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it illegal to harvest in the wild in the UK. If you are lucky enough to spot one, leave it where it is!
