Watching the Columbus Crew at our most recent companywide gathering in Columbus, Ohio. We might be a virtual company, but we come together regularly for face-to-face meeting and brainstorming — and just to have a good time. At each of these companywide meetings, the fire of innovation and collaboration gets rekindled. Our clients and communities will see the results in 2025 and beyond.

Tear Down the Silos! That will be the topic for the next Breakthrough-Builders Network event to be held on 9/05/24. We all understand that silos are barriers to collaboration, so why do they still exist? How do we break down the silos that prevent us from making a real difference with our teams in the field? Although not always intentional, why do we continue to build silos within our companies, teams and projects? Great teams remove the barriers that the silos create! How do you enable your teams to remove these silos? What has worked for you in the past? What hasn't worked? If you are in the construction industry and are in the DFW area on 9/05/24 come be a part of this impactful discussion. Join us and Erica Olschnoegger at the Hilti North America corporate office. This is a free industry event that you will not want to miss. Register at this link. https://lnkd.in/dTh-hFSC Follow Breakthrough-Builders Network, Benjamin Carter or myself for future updates.

Beck's is selling out? Maybe buying something? Perhaps a big announcement of another kind? Why else spend untold $$$$ to bring EVERY employee of the company into a meeting, in MARCH (kind of a busy time for a seed company)!? We heard it all. NOPE! Just the fastest growing seed company in the U.S. investing in its people! Not simply for a day- but launching an initiative to build our employees, dealers, and communities over the next year. Beck's Leadership BELIEVES investment in employees "sows seeds" (pun intended), that have measurable, impactful results. Results for individuals. Results for our business. Who is investing in you? Want to learn more? Reach out to me!
Yesterday, we wrapped up the 2024 State of the Company address. 🎉 Usually a one-day event, this year our team dreamed bigger, creating a three-day event that allowed every employee in the company, no matter their location, to attend in-person. Through Scott Beck and Andy Andrews's presentations, we learned how we can consistently engage in ways that build our thinking, build our lives, and build our relationships, inside and outside of work. They discussed the importance of truly listening to each other and how the future of our company - and our industry - lies in the hands of each and every one of us. Thank you to everyone for attending and to all of those who put in the work behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly. It was a great three days learning how we can continue to be Unstoppable Together. ✨

I am a lover of learning (I loved school)--which leaves me often paralyzed by the tantalizing options for professional development conferences. 2024's Annual Pipeline to Power Summit with the Council of Urban Professionals is on my list today, and I couldn't resist it! As I prepare to attend, I always challenge myself to find three things to take away from each conference (manageable to incorporate in life). What is your favorite annual conference for professional development?! #lawfirmmanagement #professionaldevelopment #lovetolearn

The best way to get our team to be data-driven? Be data-driven ourselves. We can’t ask our people to do what we don’t first do… So whether we’re talking about how we run meetings, the way we make decisions, or our rationale for communicating changes… When we’re data-driven on these things, our team will be too.

Here's a summary of what was important to GCC in 2023!
Throughout 2023 our team would capture collaborative moments on the side whiteboard in our conference room - now that we're in 2024 it's unfortunately time to clean that whiteboard but not without first sharing this thought: If your team isn't having fun then it's just a paycheck, and I believe I share in the attitude with most of my colleagues that we're in this industry for more than a paycheck, but for the rewards of hard work, creativity, and colleagues within our circles with whom we enjoy our profession. Below, I share GCC's collaborative moments, as captured by our team throughout 2023. I hope you enjoy! Tackling Common Team Challenges with Liberating Structures 🚀 Problem Statement: Have you ever found your team meetings falling into a predictable and unproductive pattern? The same few voices dominate, while others remain silent, and innovative ideas rarely surface. Enter Liberating Structures, a set of facilitation tools designed to foster inclusive participation and unleash collective intelligence. 1: Use '1-2-4-All' to ensure every team member's voice is heard, encouraging diverse perspectives and creative solutions. 2: Use 'Impromptu Networking' as it breaks down hierarchical barriers, allowing for free-flowing idea exchange, and building on ideas. 3: Use '25/10' to boost energy while you elevate the biggest idea in the room (not the loudest person). 4: Use 'Troika Consulting' to get fast help from coworkers (and they don't even have to be on your team!). Discover how Liberating Structures can transform your team meetings from monotonous to dynamic, fostering an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive. Join us at our upcoming workshop to explore these powerful techniques! https://lnkd.in/gbpcBCVQ
