For some people, pregnancy is an easy time with little to no complications. For others, a situation may emerge that requires medical intervention or lifestyle changes. The concept of bed rest has been around for a long time, but, nowadays, it’s not commonly recommended. In fact, it’s not suitable for most pregnant people. There’s no scientific evidence that bed rest prevents preterm labor or reduces the risk of preeclampsia (high blood pressure in pregnancy).
