Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. Commercial fusion electrical energy generation is a promising and innovative method of producing sustainable and clean energy. By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY If you want nuclear energy, opt for the cleaner and safer option of FUSION. Now see what news is happening in the Fusion industry in the world. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fission fuel shortage in 100 or 80 years is increasingly real, as stated in recent UN documents and linked below. https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr

Check out this book that my friends and I at PNNL put together about the Remediation of Legacy Hazardous and Nuclear Industrial Sites. This book utilizes unique perspectives from the Hanford Site in eastern Washington State to illustrate the challenges, complexities, and structure of remediating large complex sites. Big thanks to Christopher Strickland for his support in generating this chapter, and to Hilary Palmer Emerson and Stuart Arm for leading the development of this book.
The Hanford Site — a decommissioned nuclear production complex in Washington state — provides a compelling case study of the RCRA and CERCLA cleanup process in action. H&A hydrogeologist Adam R. Mangel, PhD., GIT, and co-author Christopher Strickland of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory dive into it in a new book chapter. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eKwxAxj6

A step forward in Canada’s energy transition. Last month, $12.7 million in funding was announced to help Canada transition to a low-carbon future. The funding, coming from the Alliance grants program, will help turn the government’s Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Action Plan into a reality. Set to become the foundation of Canada’s nuclear industry, the funding will support the development of this technology and help us become a global clean energy leader. This round of grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) encourages collaborations between universities, industry, and not-for-profits. One example of where the funding will go is Queen’s researcher Laurent Karim Béland, who is receiving $1.2 million to explore the accelerated qualification of nuclear materials for SMRs. Best invest in Building and talking about Fusion power, space, and maritime propulsion systems and industry as data centres are. You talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is, ignorant of what's happening around you. Pull your uranium heads out, start adjusting your industry to fusion energy and start preparing to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun. It’s fantastic to see strong support for advanced modular reactors at Hartlepool. The town is home to a workforce with decades of experience in ‘gas-cooled’ reactors which have many similarities with new small modular versions like our Xe-100. We're delighted to be discussing how to best benefit the region with community representatives and leaders including using high temperature clean heat for industry. Our first project is already underway in America, meaning Hartlepool would be a full-scale commercial plant, not a pilot, boosting the number of high quality jobs for generations to come. #Nuclear #Hartlepool https://lnkd.in/e2TUFFK4
