21 awards made nation-wide through the PRO Housing Grant, including $3.3 million for our neighbors to the north in Philadelphia. Looks like they'll use that funding towards a wide range of activities, including: -A comprehensive action plan to preserve existing affordable units -Developing Climate Resilient Design Guidelines -A pilot rehabilitation project to repair flood damage in homes -Developing local code and departmental regulations to streamline affordable housing development -A market feasibility analysis to study the optimal ratio of affordable-to-market rate unit availability Sounds like pretty great stuff, given the major housing challenges we're facing in the region. Someone in the comments stated the Villa at Titusville is already beginning to show signs of decay and destruction. Birmingham Housing Authority just like City of Birmingham provides housing for the least likely to excel beyond government dependency to becoming productive and sustainable citizens. Both BHA and the City of Birmingham the two entities support young women with dependent children instead of citizens who are working towards earning a higher education, entrepreneurs, and middle age to older people. The Birmingham Housing Authority and the City of Birmingham place the wrong type of people in new housing, and the citizens who take pride and care of their housing and homes are displaced and put on the back of waiting lists for housing and emergency rental assistance. Therefore, the new new communities built and in the blueprint phase will in five to ten years decay and begin to look like yesterday’s government housing projects. Unprepared, obsolete, old school (and new...), NIMBY council planners be like... Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Angela Rayner, has just announced a new formula to be used by LPAs to calculate actual local housing demands, which will be the basis to set MANDATORY housing targets. I’m eager to see how the new numbers will affect Guildford Borough Council, what steps will be taken to implement these targets, and what measures the Government will put in place to oversee and enforce the policy. #development #land #planning #sempreproperty

BRANCHBURG – The township may be facing an obligation to provide 500 to 600 more affordable housing units when the next round of quotas is released later this year. "This is not good news," Township Committeeman Tom Young said at Monday's meeting of the governing body. In the previous round of affordable housing quotas, Branchburg was required by Superior Court mandates to provide 1,000 more affordable housing units. That has led to the boom in multi-family housing development in the township.
