Together, CBH Group and the RRR Network celebrate exceptional regional women who wear many hats. Meet Bec from Ballidu – a mum of two young boys, a dedicated worker on her family’s broadacre cropping farm, and a skilled vet nurse with 15 years of experience in Dalwallinu and Wongan Hills. Before becoming a working mum, Bec was also a proud member of the Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service, always ready to help in times of need. As a sister, aunty, and valued community member, Bec plays a vital role in keeping her community strong. Regional women truly are the backbone of our rural towns!

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day to make a difference in the lives of others. Reading Tayjha’s story reminds me why R.E.S.T. Centres (Restoration & Empowerment for Social Transition) exist: to create hope and opportunities for young people facing unimaginable challenges. At REST, we’re not just providing housing; we’re empowering youth to rebuild their lives, overcome barriers, and thrive. Tayjha’s journey from instability to finding her footing in school and housing shows the transformative impact of our work. But the reality is daunting—youth in our region face staggering housing costs, systemic inequities, and unfair stigmas, especially Black youth. This Giving Tuesday, I invite you to partner with us to continue this vital work. Together, we can ensure more youth like Tayjha have the support they need to not just survive but thrive. 📖 Read her story below. 💙 Support REST’s mission here: Donate — REST CENTRES Let’s make a difference, one life at a time. 🌟 #GivingTuesday #YouthEmpowerment #RESTCentres #EndHomelessness
With the continued support of our community we can transform the lives of the youth we serve. #RESTCentres #SupportingYouth #PeelRegion https://lnkd.in/g_47digU

On MMIW Day, NIEA stands in solidarity with Native communities to honor the missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people. Today, we remember the lives lost, the families impacted, and the communities forever changed by this ongoing crisis. This day serves as a solemn reminder of the urgent need for justice, awareness, and action. Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people continue to face disproportionate rates of violence and are too often overlooked or forgotten. It's time to amplify their voices, uplift their stories, and demand accountability. As advocates for Native education and Indigenous rights, NIEA reaffirms its commitment to addressing the root causes of this epidemic. We call upon policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and communities to work together to end this violence. Today, we honor the resilience and strength of Indigenous women and girls. We stand with them, their families, and their communities in the pursuit of justice and healing. Together, we remember, honor, and demand change. #MMIWG #MMIWG2S #MissingAndMurderedIndigenousWomen #JusticeForMMIW #NativeRights #NIEAStandsWithYou

Block. Build. Bridge. Today's block action: Make this call. If you see this days after the vote. Call anyway. Speak out. Say not this. We will have much to do. Let folks know we are listening and planning. Block. Build. Bridge.
Today, the House is voting on a bill (HR 9495) that would empower the Trump administration to crackdown on nonprofits. While HR 9495 will fail in the Senate, supporters will likely re-introduce this bill when Republicans have a trifecta next year. Opponents to social justice philanthropy and progressive nonprofits will weaponize disinformation about "terrorism" and "funding terrorism" as the basis to revoke tax-exempt status from nonprofits. As usual, Palestine solidarity is the canary in the coal mine. Labor unions weren't ready in 2011 for the assault on public sector collective bargaining or the wave of right-to-work laws. I hope the nonprofit sector gets ready for the existential threats to civil society in 2025. Read more in the ACLU's letter to Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and then contact your reps:

Shame on Cumberland Council! Queer people exist. Same-sex parents exist. Trans, gender diverse and nonbinary people exist. We. Are. Not. An. Issue. The only issue with our existence is that we have to keep defending our rights to exist. Last week, Cumberland Council, passed a motion that continues to set set a precident, and feed and perpetuate the unnecessary fear and ignorant misinformation of the LGBTQ+ community. Further, this action continues to jeopardise the safety of rainbow families and any future coexistence of our public communities. They passed an amendment to the Library Strategy 2024-2027 that bans books featuring same-sex parents from our public libraries. "This crosses a dangerous line. Our area welcomes people of all backgrounds and beliefs, we’re not about banning books just because someone does not like who is in them." Sign the petition here, and please share widely. https://lnkd.in/gwHaWd-X #LGBTQ+ #Sydney #RainbowFamilies #Diversity #Inclusion #Equality #Equity #EqualRights #HumanRights ##Discrimination #lgbtqbooks #lgbtqcommunity Equality Australia Rainbow Families
