CDL is hiring for a Matte Painter, responsible for creating visually stunning and immersive high-quality digital matte paintings, set extensions, and environments that align with the project's artistic vision and style & producing digital paintings that seamlessly blend with live-action footage or animation to enhance the overall visual storytelling, including designing landscapes, cityscapes, buildings, nature elements, and other background assets as required. Can conduct thorough research, gather reference materials to inform the design and realism of the matte paintings. *Must have strong artistic and digital painting skills, with a portfolio showcasing expertise in creating realistic environments and visual storytelling. * Proficiency in using digital painting software, particularly Adobe Photoshop. * Knowledge of 3D software is a plus (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max) but not mandatory. * Understanding of cinematography, lighting, and composition to create visually compelling matte paintings. Ensure that all assets meet the technical and artistic standards set by the art direction. Environment Design: Design and model immersive and visually stunning environments that enhance the player experience. Create landscapes, architecture, and atmospheric elements that contribute to the game world's narrative and atmosphere. Character Design: Conceptualize and design characters, creatures, and NPCs that are visually appealing and thematically consistent with the game's art style and lore. Develop detailed character models with expressive animations and rigging. Texture Painting: Apply textures and shaders to 3D models to achieve realistic or stylized visual effects. Use techniques such as hand-painting, procedural texturing, and photo manipulation to create compelling surface materials. Optimization: Optimize 3D assets for performance and memory usage without sacrificing visual quality. Ensure that assets are efficiently rendered and animated within the constraints of the game engine. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other artists, designers, and programmers to integrate 3D assets seamlessly into the game. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure alignment on project goals and deadlines. I've worked on many Award Winning Films and Commercials. Here's how I create photorealism when compositing CG. There's a big step most freshers and juniors miss. References, References, References, References. Stop guessing, start using references. Best way to do this? ↳ Start photography and learn composition. ↳ Start using and creating photographic references. ↳ Start collecting references before starting compositing. I use references when I approach CG in compositing. Next, I break it down in 3 levels: 1. Is it a full CG shot? Collect many references. 2. Is it a live action plate with CG? Check your plate! 3. "You never FAILED in the test" Hii folks  I wanna share my experience regarding the last test that I have given. After attending the test and not getting response from the company . Asking for the Reason to HR why you rejected or why I was not selected ? Response from HR :- "You never FAILED in the test" But the reason is other person was hired because of "Reference" from our team member and he as 2 years of experience. Next time you will be the priority to take in by our company. Hiring is about the one which is doing hard work taking efforts to complete the test one with the skill is not "Hired" but the one which is "Referred " is hired by the company. So if such hirings are preferred then don't waste the time of others giving them test and giving them "Hope" then saying no.
