I am using this most recent edition of Vera as a for instance to make a point. There is a danger in thinking we know what consumers want because a mantra becomes the perceived wisdom. Everyone wants everything digital, all of the time. Turns out that’s not necessarily so. In the pandemic, airline magazines were taken out of circulation because anything tactile could spread Covid. Some were taken digital, many discontinued entirely. But they are now returning. Why ? Because travellers, and regular business flyers in particular love them. At least if they are of high quality with glossy composition and relevant engaging articles. In many cases frequent flyers have specifically asked their chosen carriers to reinstate them. That is the type of endorsement that brands and their agency partners should heed.
