Breaking news this morning ... if the Constellation purchase of Calpine goes through as planned, it will bring together nearly 60 GW of generation capacity.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently announced more than $300 million in 48C tax credits to seven hydrogen-related projects across five states. This funding is part of a broader allocation of $1.93 billion under the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit to accelerate clean energy manufacturing and reduce greenhouse emissions. Constellation Energy confirmed this morning that they will acquire Calpine in one of the largest power generation deals ever. Constellation is seeking to expand as energy consumption in the US is surging. Demand for electricity will grow almost 16% during the next five years, driven by data centers running artificial intelligence operations, new factories and electrification of everything from cars to home heating. Constellation (CEG) is held in Fairway’s U.S. Growth Basket.
