The augmenting capabilities of volumetric capture is astounding!
Now that that the #brat summer has come to an end, feels right to shamelessly plug myself by celebrating a #throwbackthursday with one of my proudest projects. I had the pleasure of directing this spot using #volumetriccapture for Samsung Electronics that launched the #CharliXCX single Good Ones. On my 10th birthday, i asked for a flatbed scanner and have been in love with digitizing the world since. This video merely scratches the surface of Volumetric Capture's potential, especially with #mixedreality finally becoming a reality. Even though I clearly never had the possibility to work with him, he was and still is a big source of inspiration on the way “I do the things”! His 14 rules (in my comment below) should be part of the onboarding training of every newcomer in the aerospace and defense industry.
Whether it’s “Founder,” “Head Skunk” or simply “Kelly,” Clarence Johnson made a profound impact on multiple high tech industries with the creation of his 14 Rules and Practices, which serve as a roadmap to drive rapid innovation. I am told, Kelly used to say that “what we do is secret, but how we do it is not,” specifically referencing the 14 Rules. We have a lot to thank Kelly for, and on what would have been his 114th birthday, I want to honor his vision that continues to inspire the creation of cutting edge solutions today. Thank you, Kelly. Back in 1999, I worked for the Dutch IT company Getronics. We tried one of the first internet broadcasts of an annual general shareholder meeting. Convinced by the head of IT, the board decided to do it all ourselves—because who needs outside experts when you have an overly confident IT department? Unfortunately, this turned out to be a classic case of "famous last words." 😉 On the day of the AGM, many of us, including myself from the Investor Relations team, eagerly awaited the live stream. It started, but within just 2 seconds, our CEO froze on the screen. Just like that, it was over. This memory came back today when I saw an invite to join the #DHL live stream of their annual shareholder meeting. Curious about what it would look like, I joined. This time, the CEO moved and talk, without turning into a statue. As expected, it was a smooth experience. Technology has improved a lot! I'm proud to have been part of those pioneering and often (!) awkward, early days. Digital transformation has been around for a long time, as my experience with Getronics shows. Especially today, it's a whirlwind journey and can be quite overwhelming at times. I'm sure we'll keep making mistakes. But that's all part of the adventure.
