The most common reason I get for not choosing Passive Optical Network (PON) is that the technology is not ready for enterprise and the IT people are not skilled and trained to support and manage PON networks. Most of the time, IT people are more used to and comfortable with standard Ethernet networks. This is because these systems have been tried and proven to work with current IT policies and procedures. For that reason, they are likely not very open to the idea of making changes to the current configuration, especially if it is working well for them. One of the other factors that might discourage IT people from accepting changes, despite the fact that they are aware of the advantages of PON, is the steep learning curve that comes with embracing PON technology. There are a number of evident benefits associated with PON, which include sustainability, cost savings through decreased physical equipment space, lower energy consumption from active equipment, future-proofing of the network infrastructure using fiber optics, scalability, and future-proofing for bandwidth demands. It is vital to note that PON technology is constantly evolving, and as it gets more widely used, training and experience become more accessible. The challenge here is whether we are prepared to transition from a fixed mindset to a growing mindset in order to achieve the transformation necessary for the organization's sustainability objective. #sustainability #smartbuilding #PON #PassiveOpticalNetwork

This article presents the design methodology of a broadband #radio #frequency (#RF)-input #sequential #load #modulated #balanced #amplifier (#SLMBA) with extended high-efficiency design space, by introducing the second-harmonic load manipulation over an enlarged range for the #control #amplifier (#CA).
