COO Empressa.AI ✦ Building a power platform for Women Entrepreneurs ✦ B2B Marketing Strategist ✦ Advisor for Ambitious B2B Marketing Leaders
Happy National pet day! This is my coworker, Bruno. Despite my attempts to teach him marketing, he is completely disinterested. He's more of a sales guy - intent on making new friends ;) What I love most about my fur baby is that he reminds me to: - Take frequent breaks outside - Pause during the day to say hello to those you love - Enjoy the little things - Embrace interruptions - Sneak in a power nap if you feel tired - Hug and cuddle often Are you celebrating your pet today? Add a photo below so we can praise them! 🐶😺🐰🐸🐟 #nationalpetday #coworker #b2bmarketing

I'm $25,000 Copywriter/Facebook Ad Expert with a sound understanding of what makes consumers empty their pockets to buy your product.
How post WWII scarcity birthed a genius sales hack that can help you close skeptical prospects You’ve probably heard of the “puppy dog close” No, it’s not a command to get your dog to sit nearer. It’s actually one of the most profitable sales techniques out there. But believe it or not, this technique wasn’t born out of some genius innovation. Nope, it was pure, desperate necessity. Let me take you back to the early 1950s. The world was still recovering from World War II, and dog sales in the United States had hit rock bottom. And really, who could blame people? After a massive war, folks barely had enough money to buy food, much less spend on a furry companion. “Should I feed my kids or buy Fido?” wasn’t exactly a tough choice. Pet shops, however, were in full crisis mode. They had a bunch of adorable, needy puppies to feed, but there wasn’t enough cash coming in to keep the lights on, let alone make a profit. If they didn’t figure something out fast, they were going to be out of business quicker than you can say "woof." So what do you do when your business is going to the dogs (pun fully intended)? You get creative. So they got creative. Or desperate. Either way, they cooked up a new idea known as the “puppy dog close.” Here’s how it worked: Pet shops would tell skeptical customers, “Take this puppy home for the weekend, and if by Monday you’re still not convinced you need it, just bring it back.” Why the weekend? Because that’s when the whole family would be at home, spending quality time with their "temporary" bundle of joy. This was more than enough time for the puppy to work its magic and cast its irresistible cuteness spell! And guess what? People who were dead set on saying: - “I don’t have enough food to feed myself, let alone a dog!” - “I’m barely providing for my kids, how could I raise a dog?!” …barely ever brought the puppies back. Because once they experienced all the cuteness, the belly rubs, and those sad little “don’t leave me” eyes, there was no going back. Suddenly, the decision to buy the puppy made all the sense in the world. They fell in love, and logic didn’t stand a chance anymore. The moral? Sales is about emotion first, logic second. And the "puppy dog close" taps into that perfectly. Now back to today, this technique is going strong, just in a slightly different form. Think about it, when Netflix, Hulu, or Spotify offer you a “1-month free trial,” they’re basically handing you a digital puppy. And are you really going to give it back after binge watching your favorite shows? Exactly. So how can you use the puppy dog close in your business too? - If you sell a course, offer a free module. - If you offer a monthly subscription service, give skeptical prospects a free 7-day trial. It worked in the ‘50s with puppies, and it’ll work today, even if your product doesn’t come with four paws and a wagging tail! #Copywriting #SalesStrategy #SalesTips #Marketing

Three years ago, I started DogPack with nothing but a love for dogs and a simple vision. I was a full-time dog walker, often walking six (or more) dogs at a given time. It was chaotic but in the best way possible. Soon, word spread, and I started receiving messages from other dog owners, requesting to join in so our dogs could play. In the beginning, it was fun but eventually, it became too overwhelming. Managing playdates, figuring out locations, and juggling requests started to feel like a full-time job on top of my actual full-time job. That’s when it hit me. What if there was an easier way for dogs and their owners to connect without all the back-and-forth? An app that could help like-minded dogs to meet and play (minus all the hassle). And just like that, DogPack was born. I pitched the idea to my three brothers, and guess what? They were on board immediately. The takeaway: Great ideas often come from the most unexpected places. When you’re open to new possibilities, even the simplest thought can turn into something extraordinary.

Dog! As we welcome our third child home this week, I'm reminded of all the funny parallels between parenting and a career in sales or recruiting. #2 recently learned the word "Dog". Well, doggo. Wifey and I were thrilled, as this was one of his first real words. Fast forward two weeks however, and we realize that he is using the word for everything! Every animal he sees, and even some cars, trucks, houses, all became doggos. I realized then that the hardest part about learning a new word, is learning what that word isn't. What is NOT a dog, that is the question. Sales, Recruiting, Marketing, how does this tie in? Well, do you know who your actual target prospect is? Do you know how to identify them, qualify them? Are they a good fit for you, your business and your culture? Are you talking to the wrong people, because you can't tell the difference?
