Eventex Awards has officially kicked off the evaluation phase in the 14th edition of its awards which allows the public to select the worthiest entries in the People’s Choice categories. We are proud that the Invisible Industry Tour is featured in the [category name] of the awards and would like to ask you to support our nomination with your vote. THE INDIVISIBLE INDUSTRY TOUR The Invisible Industry Tour is touted as a Live Press Kit—a collective effort across the Exhibitions and Events Industry that includes exhibition organizers, general contractors, trades/unions, experiential designers/producers, trade show suppliers, venues, and convention/visitor bureaus. OUR PROGRESS The tour kicked off on June 1, 2022, ECA Legislative Action Day and Global Exhibitions Day. Volunteers from sponsoring organizations, the Exhibitions and Events Workforce Development Federation, Poretta & Orr, Trade Show Solutions Center, Brewco Marketing Group, Triune Specialty Trailers, and the Exhibitions and Events Industry Coalition had meetings with public officials, economic development directors, labor unions, and other groups to discuss collaboration, emphasize the importance of the Exhibitions and Events Industry to economic recovery and to inform and educate local communities about the industries workforce development initiatives. Voting in Eventex Awards People’s Choice categories takes place on a dedicated portal where you will be able to log in using a social profile and cast your vote with just a click. The voting period is March 18th – April 2nd. “Our People’s Choice awards give power to the public as well as the events industry community to recognize the most noteworthy events, products, services, and venues. VidCon Baltimore has been cancelled along with my panel. Here's why I think this is the right move ⤵ VidCon Anaheim 2024 felt like a transition year. The convention floor didn't have 'creator energy'. It had 'brand energy'. There were some booths for cameras and editing platforms, but all of the big ones were for traditional media (Disney) or youth-focused, non-video brands (Fanta). Attendance was rumored to be level with 2023 (55,000), still well below pre-COVID levels (up to 75,000). The creator hotel at the Hyatt, once flooded with the millionaire creator class and featuring posh lounges from the biggest brands, felt subdued and often empty (except for the Instagram lounge, which was always popping off). Add that to the conversation in the press about whether Paramount plans to sell VidCon, which was a hot topic among insiders. Although I'm too far in to say 'long story short', this is all to say that VidCon is having a bit of an identity crisis. I would love to see the convention go back to its creator-first roots. Help the big brands set up their sponsorships around creating social content. Have more events for and around aspiring creators. Turn those autograph lines into 'collab lines' where fans can shoot a quick video with the biggest stars. Take the time to focus on Anaheim, absolutely knock it out of the park and get back into a growth-mindset, then start expanding to new locations. Yes, I'm bummed that VidCon Baltimore isn't happening. But I celebrate the decision. #socialmedia #creatoreconomy #vidcon

As a old-timer in the world of events management, I would also add these gems to the prep list: 📒 A messaging guide for all your team - including the elevator pitch and the product USPs, so matter who gets asked the questions, everyone knows the answers! 🥗 Dinner reservations - the save the team walking around trying to find something on the night, pre book and use the time for team building and daily check-in on leads. 👟 Comfy shoes - I have seen a four day event done in 5 inch heels, but no, it's not for me!
