Sharing this one on behalf of Imperial College London - let's get the structure of DNA as an official the LEGO Group structure!! 👇 Click this link and click the support button to add your vote: https://lnkd.in/egXhj3XA Earlier this year I took on the S111 course through The Open University which was an intro to all things science, and the topic around DNA was THE most fascinating topic for me. The 6 year old is starting to get into Lego (finally!) so if we manage to get the DNA model across the line, I can complete his brainwashing (sorry, I mean "guided parenting" 😏😉) and also get him into science - win win!
70 years after the discovery of the structure of DNA, could it now become a Lego structure? 🧱 MSc Bioengineering student Daniel Khosravinia has designed a Lego DNA model and lab that is scientifically and historically accurate, that aims to promote science to kids and young adults. If Lego DNA gets to 10,000 supporters on the Lego Ideas website, it will be considered as a real, official Lego set to be made available worldwide. Support Daniel's project to help make it a reality 👇 https://lnkd.in/evrxDp3E

'Tis the season... where the kids will get sick! Working parents out there will feel me, do you push them to go to nursery/ school.... are they sick enough to stay home but not need a doctor.... do you need to call 111... do they need to go urgent care.... are they REALLY sick (in the case of my 6 year old last week, this was a NO but he's a great actor 🤣 ). And all of this while trying not to let your work down. One thing I’ve learned on this journey of balancing a career and motherhood is that fluidity is everything. No two days look the same, and the ability to adapt at the last minute is absolutely critical.... along with taking the pressure off yourself! (which can be the more difficult task). From juggling meetings and deadlines to school pickups and bedtime stories, the key is not just to manage it all but to flow with it. Some days the balance leans more toward work, and others it leans toward family—and that’s okay. I’ve realised it’s not about striving for perfection, but about embracing flexibility! To all the full-time working parents out there: We’re doing our best, and that’s more than enough. 💪💼👩👧👦 And for everyone out there, sharing my terrible home drawn spiders my 3 year old kept requesting from me while I was trying to manage our temp payroll when he was home unwell last week - enjoy 🕷️ 🤣 #WorkingMum #Fluidity #WorkLifeBalance #Flexibility #ParentingAndCareers

Having worked with Australasian Recruitment Company for more years than I'd like to admit, I've seen thousands of Aussies and Kiwis come to London to explore the many opportunities the city has to offer. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀? The demographic of the people making the move. Before you could make the move in your early 20's without much cash in your pocket, and arrive and "couch surf" while you found your feet but visas changes such as the healthcare surcharge and the extension of age limit to 35 have meant that people tend to be a bit older, and have a bit more career experience behind them when they arrive. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱? London's job market! It was competitive back then and it's competitive now, and it still offers unparalleled opportunities for career development, but you may have to take just a slight step back which we find people are less willing to do nowadays, and it's heart breaking to see people head back home when it hasn't quite worked out how they originally planned. When we moved in our early 20's, we'd take a bar job at night to support our job search in the day, we'd take a temp role as a receptionist just to get some experience working in London - it was fun, it was different and in many cases it led to meeting new people, changing our perspectives on what we wanted or meant we went temp to perm at a fantastic company! While moving to London may initially feel like a step back in your career, it’s important to view it as an opportunity for growth and reinvention. Working in London offers an incredibly rewarding experience. As a global business hub and vibrant city that celebrates diversity, it broadens your perspectives and shapes your career in exciting ways. What the move to London will always be, is life-changing! #jobsinlondon #movingcountries #careerdevelopment https://lnkd.in/eq8Dpjq4

Just attended an insightful webinar by Osborne Clarke on UK immigration updates, focusing on the various types of working visas and the processes involved. A great refresher on a critical area for employers - especially with the risk of fines of up to £60,000 for hiring staff without the correct right to work. At Australasian Recruitment Company, we ensure our clients are never at risk by conducting stringent right-to-work checks throughout our registration process. Staying compliant isn’t just a legal obligation, it’s a key part of protecting businesses and ensuring they remain successful. #Compliance #Immigration #RightToWork #UKBusiness
