What are certain #Myths involved in the Counseling Relationship? ✖️ 👀 🐥 Therapists have all the answers: #Therapists are trained to guide clients through their challenges, but they don't have all the answers. #Therapy is a collaborative process where both the therapist and the client work together to explore and address issues. 🐥 Therapists judge their clients: Therapists are trained to be #nonjudgmental and #empathetic. Their role is to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. 🐥 Therapy is only for people with severe mental illness: Therapy can #benefit anyone who is struggling with personal issues, stress, relationship problems, or life transitions. It's not just for those diagnosed with mental illnesses. 🐥Therapy is only about talking: While traditional talk therapy is common, there are many different #therapeutic approaches that may involve activities such as art therapy, play therapy, or cognitive-behavioral techniques. 🐥Therapy is a quick fix: Therapy is a process that takes time and effort. It's not a quick fix, but rather a journey of #selfdiscovery and #personalgrowth. These myths can create barriers to seeking help and understanding the counseling process. It's important to debunk them to encourage people to seek the support they need. #psychology #healthymind #mythsnottofollow #awareness #psychologicalwellbeing #therapy #counselling

“Trauma can silently pass through generations, shaping our lives in ways we may not even realize. Healing the past isn’t just for ourselves—it’s about breaking cycles and freeing future generations from inherited burdens. In a recent Family Constellation session, a client uncovered how their grandparents’ unresolved pain was impacting their present-day relationships. This therapy not only helps individuals understand their family patterns but also supports those suffering from mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and emotional trauma. By addressing these deep-rooted issues, Family Constellation therapy can bring relief and healing, offering a path toward mental well-being. It shows us that when we heal the past, we empower both ourselves and future generations to live with greater emotional freedom.” #familyconstellationtherapy #psychology #seekforhelp #psychologists #mentalhealth #unresolved #trauma

World Mental Health Awareness Day 💚 Metaphor for thought 💭 Sometimes, sitting on the bench, watching the game can be interesting and fascinating... but sometimes, actually being in the game and part of it is where the real scrapes and bruises happen. The term ‘trauma-informed care’ is increasingly common in the mental health field, and for a good reason. Trauma is more prevalent than many people realise, and it significantly affects how people think, feel, and behave and we see it in the therapy room all the time. Whether it stems from childhood experiences, systemic oppression, or recent global events, trauma unfortunately shapes lives. That’s why integrating a trauma-informed approach into therapy isn’t just beneficial, it feels essential. So, What Exactly is Trauma-Informed Care? Trauma-informed care (TIC) is an approach that acknowledges the widespread impact of trauma and recognises that it plays a significant role in people’s lives. It shifts the focus from asking, “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” and this perspective helps us understand that behaviours and symptoms we see, might be adaptations to cope with past trauma. Title: Don't Give Up on Therapy Just Yet! "We understand that therapy may not have clicked for you just yet, but don't write it off just because of one or two sessions! Therapy is a journey, not a quick fix. It takes time to build trust, understanding, and progress. Think of therapy like a garden - you can't expect flowers to bloom after just one watering! It's normal for growth to be slow and incremental. Don't give up on the process before it has a chance to work. Remember, therapy is a collaborative effort between you and your therapist. Communicate your concerns and work together to find a approach that suits you. Don't let initial doubts hold you back from potentially life-changing growth. Give therapy a fair chance - you got this! Share with someone who may be struggling with therapy and let's support each other in our mental health journeys! #Therapy #MentalHealth #Growth #Progress" This post aims to encourage individuals to persist with therapy, emphasizing that progress takes time and that it's a collaborative process between you and the therapist! Give yourself a chance!
