Past President 2024/2025 of SIOPSA and Work Psychologist helping leaders to be their best in these uncertain times

Last night, I facilitated a discussion on Authentic Leadership, emphasising transparency and connecting with our inner selves. I strongly believe in practising authenticity in a comfortable and safe manner. Moreover, today, I am dedicated (and re-dedicated) to self-care and living with purpose. #AuthenticLeadership #AfricanLeadershipDevelopment

Last night, I had the opportunity to lead an engaging discussion on Authentic Leadership with BCA Leadership. During the session, I highlighted the significance of being open in a way that makes you feel comfortable and secure. Being open attracts real followers and builds trust, which is the foundation of authentic leadership. Additionally, I talked about the importance of connecting with ourselves and our stories. One of these stories is my gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the President of the Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology South Africa (SIOPSA) this year. My journey as President has reinforced my commitment to authenticity and taught me the importance of staying true to myself. Interestingly, it's also my first anniversary today since my surgery and the challenging recovery that followed. The experience has taught me the power of self-care, which has changed my perspective and helped me value authenticity and its strength even more. I'm grateful for the lessons learned and committed to leading purposefully and creating environments where everyone feels safe and respected. These reflections remind me of how personal growth and professional leadership are intertwined, and I'm excited to see where this path leads. #AuthenticLeadership #Growth #Resilience #AfricanLeadership #BCA #Authenticorganisations #OneSIOPSA #SIOPSARelevance Dr Ruwayne Kock Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology South Africa (SIOPSA)
