RW Armstrong undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the iconic control tower on the Goodwood Estate, originally constructed during the Second World War and first serving as the circuit office in 1948. The project aimed to modernise the building while preserving its historical and cultural significance. Though not listed, the control tower is internationally renowned and cherished by race enthusiasts, making it essential to honour its archetypal character throughout the refurbishment. The refurbishment included the integration of a new steel structure within the original walls, alongside the installation of a new roof and decking. Given the proximity to the active race circuit, the project demanded meticulous planning and execution to avoid disrupting events and to safeguard drivers and vehicles from any potential hazards. The project won a SUSSEX HERITAGE TRUST Award. #familybusiness #buildingforgenerations #finequalitybuilding #craftsmanship #refurbishment #rwarmstrong #craftsmanship #goodwood #countryhousebuilders #sussexheritagetrustaward #craftspeople

In case you missed it: Senior Associate Transport: Peter Malley’s article, ‘Dominance of the 16-metre cross road section,’ appeared in the autumn edition of the VPELA Revue. Peter is always looking for ways to optimise our transport system and his article pointed to the large amounts of road reserve used in new subdivisions catering solely to private vehicles. “There is a long-held belief by those working in growth areas that subdivisions must provide one on-street visitor car parking space per dwelling. This car parking is provided in addition to the double garage situated on each lot and the ability to accommodate another vehicle in the driveway within the garage setback. In essence we are essentially designing our subdivisions for a car parking provision of four spaces per dwelling.” He offered alternatives to the high percentage of bitumen being laid down, including greening landscape architecture, an increased housing supply, and converting footpaths into shared pathing to create more liveable areas. Do you think it’s time we took steps to challenge the dominance of private vehicles? #ratio #fosteringchange #transport #vpela

🎨 Project Spotlight: Remembering Providence Park in 1999 Before Providence Park became the iconic stadium it is today ⚽, Siegner and Company rose to the challenge of painting the blue steel trusses of what was then Civic Stadium. Leveraging swing stage platforms, we delivered precision and excellence, ensuring every detail was flawlessly coated. This project is a proud reminder that utilizing the best technology and techniques leads to successful outcomes. Though the stadium was renovated three years later, our work remains a lasting testament to craftsmanship and dedication. 💪🎨 Why use a swing stage? 1. Flexibility in Access: Reach challenging heights and tricky surfaces with ease. 2. Cost-Effective: Save time and equipment costs compared to full scaffolding systems or aerial boom lifts. 3. Time Efficiency: Quick setup and dismantling keep your projects on schedule. 4. Enhanced Safety: Modern swing stages come equipped with guardrails and harness anchor points for peace of mind. 5. Minimized Ground Disruption: Maintain a busy ground level while work continues above. 💡 Got a tough access project? Call Siegner and Company today. Let’s tackle your next challenge together! 📞💻 Href=tel:503-735-3001 https://lnkd.in/ge2uk4Zw

🚚 Big projects, big progress! With large projects like this garage in Waltham MA, each day consists of a few steps but on a large scale. Today, the team applied the broadcast coating to a level of the garage using Neogard FC7510/FC7961. This coating is often used as a waterproofing membrane for pedestrian and vehicular traffic-bearing surfaces like parking garages, stadiums, walkways, and rooftop recreation areas. We’re on track to complete two of the three levels before spring, with plans to complete all three levels and paint 332 new parking spots once it’s all finished! #Construction #ParkingGarage #Waterproofing #UrbanDevelopment #BlackBearCoatings #DurableSurfaces #EpoxyCoating #ConcreteExperts #industrialflooring #BlackBearConcrete #EpoxyFlooring #ConcreteCoatings #DurableFlooring #CommercialFlooring #IndustrialStrengthFlooring #CommercialKitchens #FloorContractor #ConcreteRepair #IndustrialFlooring #NewEnglandFlooring #NewEnglandConcrete #NHepoxy #MAepoxy #CTepoxy #NHconcrete #MAconcrete #CTconcrete #progradefloors

Frequently Asked Question: Are there any space limitations? 🤔 🏠 AeroBarrier has been used in apartments as small as 500 sq ft and homes over 10,000 sq ft. As long as the space can be pressurized, it can typically be sealed. Additional blower doors can be added to increase the pressure in larger spaces. #Airtightsolutions #Aeroseal #BuildingEnvelope #EnergyEfficientHomes #Construction #VancouverBuilder #ConstructionTechnology

Northstowe Phase 1: Finishing Works 🚧 The first phase of Northstowe is now entering its final stage: with the delivery of over 1,400 new homes, together with sports facilities, open spaces and the associated infrastructure by masterdeveloper, L&Q Estates. Fellow master developer Urban&Civic acquired L&Q Estates in Summer 2024 and, with most of the housebuilders’ construction works finished, Northstowe Town is now in a position to undertake the highway finishing works. The £4.7m programme of works will take some time to complete but will ensure Northstowe delivers the inclusive and accessible routes that are vitally important to residents and will finish off many of the works that are known to cause frustration and issues at the moment. The works will provide: 🚴 Connected cycle paths throughout the development. 🚍 A dedicated busway connecting to the Cambridgeshire Guided Bus. 🚶 Accessible pedestrian routes. 🪧 Finished surfacing, signage and street furniture. The Falkirk Wheel is the world's only fully rotating boat lift, located in Tamfourhill, Falkirk, Scotland. This remarkable engineering feat connects the Forth & Clyde Canal with the Union Canal, allowing boats to be lifted 35 meters (approximately 115 feet) in a matter of minutes. Opened in 2002 as part of the Millennium Link project, the Falkirk Wheel was designed to replace an older system of 11 locks that had been in place since the 1930s. The innovative design not only serves a practical purpose but also stands as a striking modern landmark, attracting around 500,000 visitors annually. The wheel operates using a unique counterbalance system: when one gondola is lowered, the opposite gondola rises, maintaining equilibrium. This design requires only the power equivalent to that of eight domestic kettles to operate. The Falkirk Wheel is not just functional; it has been described as a work of art, with inspirations drawn from various sources, including Celtic designs and natural forms. #engineering #technology #technologies #scotland #boat #boatlift #innovation #canal
