Check out these easy and eco-friendly options to ensure lights are retired responsibly: ♻️ Many local recycling centers accept Christmas lights, especially ones with metal wiring. 🔌 Lights with electronic components are often accepted by e-waste facilities. ✨ If they still work, consider donating or repurposing them for crafts or next year’s décor.

What should you do with leftover, unwanted latex paint from that project from 10 years ago? 🤷♂️🤷 We love to offer basic education to our customers and bring overall awareness about what to do with leftover latex paint. Below are some helpful safety guidelines to follow when disposing of latex paint: ➡️ Do not put liquid latex paint in the trash or down the drain. ➡️ Consider donating to a community organization. ➡️ Take to a municipal surplus paint collection program, where available. ➡️ Latex paint can be disposed of only if it is dry. To dry small amounts, remove the lid and safely allow paint to dry in the can. For larger amounts, mix in kitty litter and stir to speed drying. Once paint has dried, place it in the trash. ➡️ Recycle your empty paint cans. Leave lids off so the empty can is visible. The City of Fayetteville is partnering with Pedal It Forward NWA to offer a new drop-off location in Fayetteville, where used bikes will be collected, repaired and distributed throughout Northwest Arkansas to those in need to increase access to bikes for health, transportation or recreation. Another inspiring case study from #AJRetroFitLive This time the rejuvenation of the Rylands building (former Debenhams) in the centre of Manchester, also focussing on the reuse of both the building and materials. Kiru Balson described the work of the Max Fordham LLP team who worked towards the challenge of achieving 30% reuse during the refurbishment set as a planning condition, asking themselves the questions: 1. What can we realistically reuse in the same scheme. 2. What about the stuff we don’t need?
