Raising Awareness & Working Together Toward Responsible Waste Reduction & Recycling as the County Landfill Reaches Capacity – Fayetteville City Council Public Hearing 2025 Budget Allocation The average American produces approximately 4.9 pounds of trash per day and much of this waste is comprised of recyclable items. When we recycle, we give new life to materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Recycling reduces the need to grow, harvest, or extract new raw materials from the Earth. That, in turn, reduces the harmful disruption and damage being done to the natural world, which means fewer forests cut down, rivers diverted, wild animals harmed or displaced, and less pollution. We are on a mission to redefine the norms of property development through sustainability. Driven by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and the vision to revolutionise sustainability practices, we have built a ground-breaking partnership with waste management experts, Bakers Environmental Solutions to drive positive change across our industry. We have introduced dedicated recycling zones at all our sites, meaning that all materials and products are segregated at the point of disposal into the relevant skips. This reduces the amount of general waste coming from of our sites and going into landfill, and allows the recycling process to be quicker and more efficient. Milton Keynes City Council has published major plans to transform its waste recovery facility in Wolverton into a state-of-the-art Eco Park that will provide green energy to the city for a more sustainable future. The city council has also published a separate proposal to replace MK’s three ageing tips with two modern reuse and recycling sites in the north and south of the city. Larger, greener sites in better locations with less congestion would accept a wider range of items as well as offering reuse facilities. https://zurl.co/54y4Y
