It can be tricky to decide how best to use outdoor space which is sandwiched between two buildings can’t it? It's not always ideal to plant a garden, is it? The area may have a lot of foot traffic, or it may be quite a shady area, so not ideal for the kinds of plants you enjoy. Perhaps it is overlooked, so it doesn’t really lend itself to an outdoor relaxation area. These were the issues faced by this client, and we came up with a plan to utilise that space in a way that really worked for them and their lifestyle.  We added an infill extension, which gave them some extra space indoors and a set of patio doors that flood the rooms with light and bring the outside in. The end result is a house with massive kerb appeal. By filling the gap between the garage and the house, this home immediately looks larger, more luxurious, and more pulled together.  The clients could then retain the garden exactly as it is.
