In light of recent events and the troubling news about former President Trump, it's clear that our nation stands at a critical crossroads. The divisions we face today echo the time when our country was on the brink of civil war. The intense polarization, the breakdown of civil discourse, and the growing distrust among fellow Americans are all reminiscent of the pre-Civil War era.
We must seek common ground, and work towards our more perfect union.
On this 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion to rescue Europe from evil, this call to awareness and action from Kentucky’s senior U.S. senator should be read and re-read.
Though easy to ignore eight decades later, the post-WW2 truisms remain crystal clear:
▫️Totalitarianism anywhere threatens freedom and free enterprise everywhere.
▫️Our economic security and our national security are inseparable.
▫️Strength deters.
▫️Alliances with other democracies are vital to our national interest.
▫️We must grow America’s arsenal of democracy, our defense industrial base.
▫️In the long twilight struggle between good and evil, between democracy and dictatorship, America remains the indispensable nation for the Free World.

After the attempted assassination of President Reagan on March 30, 1981, the Lubavitcher Rebbe explained what led to it.
It is a huge mistake to believe that we can expel G-d from our society and still have morality.
I know.
People are going to point to the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, Radical Islam, and so on and say that religion is the route of all evil.
People are going to say that you can get a good person to do good things and a bad person to do bad things, but to get a good person to do bad things takes religion.
It won't work. Evil people corrupt religion to serve them. That's definitely true.
The bottom line is that without deference to a Higher Power, to a morality that is not governed by what I happen to be feeling in the moment, you end up with Hitler and Stalin, two people who created their own morality.
G-d Almighty gave all of humankind seven laws to keep, laws that aren't about how I feel today, but about ultimate morality.
1. Don't worship idols.
2. Don't curse G-d.
3. Don't commit murder.
4. Don't steal.
5. Don't commit adultery or incest.
6. Don't eat a part of a live animal.
7. Maintain a justice system.
Do these things, and you'll have a functioning society.
Don't do these things, and don't be surprised by the outcome.

The Rebbe on Attempted Assassination
After President Reagan was shot and wounded by a would-be assassin in 1981, the Rebbe spoke about the societal shortcomings that had allowed this horrific event to take place.
❝Biden’s withdrawal has definitely given the Democrats a boost and a new belief in themselves after their near-death experience.❞
❓ Will Joe Biden's departure from the White House mark the beginning of a new phase in transatlantic relations? While Kamala Harris is certainly more predictable than Donald Trump, even if the Vice President manages to win the election US politics is unlikely to suddenly become bipartisan and internationalist.

Whither the “City Upon a Hill”? Donald Trump, America First, and American Exceptionalism - PDF: https://lnkd.in/g6g-mJmu
In order to understand Donald Trump’s “America First”
agenda, we must examine the master narrative that underpins
it. Trump breaks with all modern presidents not just because
he challenges the postwar “liberal international order,” but
because he rejects its underlying master narrative — American
exceptionalism. America First relies instead on the narrative of
Jacksonian nationalism. What makes America great, according
to this narrative, is not a diverse nation unified in its adherence
to certain liberal ideals, but rather ethnocultural homogeneity,
material wealth, and military prowess. In this view, the United
States is unexceptional, and therefore has no mission to pursue
abroad. By shedding light on this alternative master narrative,
we can better understand Trump’s presidency, his grand strategy,
and why a return to the status quo ante after Trump is unlikely.
It may be that only fear of a new war can restore an appreciation for federalism. America simply cannot survive without it. The fundamental diversity of American peoples demands it—and we have no other option.

What do you do when the enemy is vanquished?
Who do you do fight when the fight is won?
Where do you go when all roads open up to you?
This was the dilemma that faced Bill Clinton as he stepped up to the podium as President of the United States.
Throughout living memory, the USA had been fighting the Soviets.
It had provided them with a shadow to identify themselves against, a benchmark to compare themselves with, and a resolve to strive for better.
Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, and Bush had all been able to position themselves against this spectre of evil.
But with a stroke of a pen, poof, the USSR was signed out of existence on the 26th of December 1991.
The USA had won, or at least avoided losing, but what did victory mean?
Clinton was the first US President faced with the task of defining what the United States looked like in a post Cold War world, on the eve of a new century and millennium.
How would he do it?
I've analysed Clinton's 1993 Inauguration Speech to determine what new course he saw for America, and how well he signposted it.

Speak up, and don’t be afraid!!!
In today’s America, the right to free speech feels increasingly under attack.
Censorship, cancel culture, and suppression of differing viewpoints have created an environment where many Americans are afraid to speak their minds.
But now, more than ever, it’s crucial to stand up and make your voice heard. America’s founding principles were built on the idea that everyone has the right to express their thoughts and work together for a common cause.
The radical left has been chipping away at these rights, making it harder to organize for a shared purpose.
Don’t be silenced by fear of censorship or trolls.
Seek out like-minded individuals who share your passion for preserving the republic.
Joining a movement or organization can help amplify your voice. Consider aligning with the Military Party—a group that’s not just for veterans or military personnel, but for all patriotic Americans who want to safeguard our nation’s future.
Don’t stay quiet. Speak up, organize, and vote for the country we all love.
