In 2018, 𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. With a potluck of treats, coffee, donuts, and fun games, we created an event that was more than just about making sales—it was about creating an experience. I advertised the event on Facebook, promoting gift bags, prizes, and the limited availability of items to build anticipation. It was a simple, themed event that ran for just a few days of advertising. On the day of the party, a line of excited customers formed outside my door. The fun atmosphere and sense of community allowed me to connect with customers on a deeper level, which led to big sales—including a long-arm quilting machine worth $20,000. What I learned back then is that advertising is powerful, but only if you give customers something meaningful to show up for. It’s not just about offering discounts or a competitive edge. It’s about offering an experience that makes them excited to be there. This creates reciprocity and deepens relationships. Customers don’t just buy because they have to; they buy because they want to. Today I work with small businesses not just running ads but consulting them on actionable marketing strategies so that they are advertising MORE than just a product or a service with Meta or Facebook ads. This video shows a fun moment before one of those parties—the ugly sweater party. It’s a simple process, but it worked wonders, creating high-ticket sales that easily covered my operating expenses for the month.
