What environmental managers said to me this week, when dealing with the "I've got stuff everywhere" problem that is prevalent in compliance. Without Mapistry.... "I want a one stop shop to make it easier for them [production folks] with when regulator shows up. I need a system of checks and balances" "I dont have to make random calls to consultants [for documents]" "I dont want to be working to 9pm all the time" 😢 For the environmental managers their current state is "lots of paper forms and a GIANT spreadsheet" The flip side is I talked to a customer of Mapistry this week that had conquered the "stuff everywhere" challenge Not only did it make my day hearing how we turned a normally stressful situation into a great experience, but we provided a system that enabled future plant managers to have the same results. "[Air] Agency inspections were only 10 minutes, because I had everything available in Mapistry. It made my job really easy" 😃 If you are interested in switching from "I've got stuff everywhere" to "that made my job easy" LMK! PACNY (Professional Abatement Contractors of NY)'s Annual Environmental Conference - February 15th & 16th, 2024, at the Turning Stone Resort Casino. Meet J. Brent Kynoch, Pres-Managing Director of Environmental Information Association (EIA) Regulatory Roadmap: Exploring the Latest in #EPA #Leadpaint and #PCB Clearance This session will provide a fresh look at US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s regulatory efforts relating to lead, lead project clearance and lead hazard levels (#leadpoisoning). There are problems and concerns with EPA’s proposed regulatory changes regarding lead. This will provide the framework for the presentation. For instance, how can EPA justify that a lead remediation project can be “cleared” with a dust sample, but the next day, that same dust sample result can be used to say that the area presents a hazard? The session will also dive into EPA’s regulations regarding #polychlorinatedbiphenyls. What is happening at the federal level? What is happening in the San Francisco Bay area regarding PCBs and how might it influence EPA’s future regulatory agenda? This will be a lively and fast-paced presentation that give a “Washington DC” spin on EPA’s efforts. Mr. Kynoch is the Managing Director of the Environmental Information Association, headquartered just outside of Washington, DC in Chevy Chase, MD. He has been the Managing Director of the Association since 1996, but previously had served EIA in other volunteer roles on the Board of Directors as an officer, and ultimately as the President of EIA in 1988 and 1989. EIA has spent 40 years at the forefront in providing its members with the information needed to remain knowledgeable, responsible and competitive in the environmental health and safety industry. When Mr. Kynoch changes his hat to his “paying job,” he is the President of Kynoch Environmental Management, Inc., (KEM) an environmental engineering and industrial hygiene firm and he is CEO of Clearity Environmental – a firm specializing in moisture control and mold prevention during multi-family construction. Mr. Kynoch began his career in the environmental business in 1984, when he founded his first company, AAS Environmental, which was sold in 1999. Mr. Kynoch is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. He is called upon frequently as a speaker, as a writer and as an expert regarding environmental contaminants. He has testified before both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate regarding asbestos, and has written numerous articles on asbestos, lead and mold.
