I am thrilled to announce that our latest work titled "Plug-In RIS: A Novel Approach to Fully Passive Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces" has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications! This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable guidance and support of my supervisor, Prof. Dr. Ertugrul Basar. His expertise and mentorship have been instrumental in shaping this study. I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my friend and colleague, Dr. Ibrahim Yildirim, for his unwavering support and generous contributions of time and effort. A special thanks to Dr. Mehmet Cagri Ilter and Dr. Majid Gerami for their fruitful collaboration and insights throughout this study. Our paper introduces the Plug-In #RIS, a groundbreaking design concept for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. This novel system operates by plugging the RIS into an optimal position, adjusting it once to the locations of the base station and blocked region, and using constant phase shift profiles to enhance system performance. Unlike traditional methods, our approach eliminates the need for continuous control signal transmission and online RIS configuration, providing a power and cost-efficient solution to overcome blockages in #mmWave communication systems. This user-centric design significantly boosts connectivity and overall user experience by dynamically illuminating targeted users based on their locations. #IEEE #Transactions #Wireless #Communications #RIS #Comsoc

When optimizing #wireless networks, #antenna down-tilt plays a key role in controlling signal propagation and minimizing interference. Let’s dive into two popular methods: #mechanical and #electrical down-tilting – each with its unique benefits and limitations. 📌Mechanical Down-Tilt - Method: Physically adjusts the angle of the antenna, changing its orientation to direct the signal downward. - Impact on Coverage: Offers straightforward control over vertical coverage but can lead to higher side-lobe interference in some cases. - Usage: Often seen in smaller cells and specific outdoor settings. - Studies show that mechanical tilt can reduce signal interference by approximately 20-30% in densely populated areas but is less flexible for quick adjustments. 📉 📌Electrical Down-Tilt - Method: Adjusts the phase of the RF signal across the antenna elements, changing the vertical beam without physical movement. - Coverage Precision: Allows for more granular control, reducing interference with less effect on the horizontal spread. - Usage: Common in dynamic environments (urban areas) where frequent adjustments are needed. - According to recent reports, electrical down-tilt usage has increased by 15% year-over-year due to its adaptability and precise tuning capability, making it ideal for urban deployments. 🌆 🚀 Why It Matters? With cellular data demands growing 30% annually (#ITU), finding the right balance between mechanical and electrical down-tilt can dramatically affect network performance. While mechanical tilt offers simplicity and is often more cost-effective, electrical tilt provides the responsiveness needed for today’s evolving networks. Both methods have their place in modern network optimization strategies. The choice often depends on network environment, deployment scale, and cost considerations. 💬 Enroll now into Our #Wireless_Communication Course by commenting below to understand #Cell_tower_design and the demand of Electrical and Mechanical #Tilt.

Dive into the transformative journey of Optical Distribution Networks (ODN) as we explore the significant advancements from the conventional ODN 1.0 to the innovative and efficient ODN 3.0. Understand the key features and value points that mark each evolution and how they contribute to a more connected and efficient world. 🌐💡 Whether you're a professional in the telecommunications industry, an enthusiast of technological advancements, or someone keen on the future of connectivity, this article sheds light on the remarkable progress and the future prospects of optical distribution networks. Features of ODN1.0: 1. All end-to-end are ordinary optical cables, and all nodes need to be fiber-spliced. 2. Of the total project cost, 50% is labor cost and 30% is optical cable procurement cost. Repeated construction means repeated investment in labor. Features of ODN2.0: 1. The main feature is that the home optical cable and FAT (second-level splitter) are pre-connected. 2. The failure rate of FAT and home optical cable is greatly reduced. Value points of ODN3.0: 1. Usually there is no more than one splicing point throughout the whole process, and the construction efficiency is increased by 3 times. 2. All box connectors are exposed, and there is no need to open the box for on-site construction. 3. MPO cables and single/dual core pre-connected cables all come with pre-connectors, plug and play at the construction site, and quick deployment. 4. The box and pre-connected cable are fully decoupled and can be constructed in parallel. 5. The construction is simple, and only general workers are needed to lay the optical cable and install the box. #ODNEvolution #OpticalFiber #Connectivity #Telecommunications #Innovation #TechTrends 🌐 World of Connectivity 💡 Innovation and Efficiency 🔌 Plug and Play Technology 🚀 Future of Telecommunications Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences in the comments section.
