🔥 You reap what you sow. 🔥 Karma is real, and if you treat people like trash, it’s coming for you. It blows me away how people think they can do whatever they want and not face the consequences. It doesn’t matter how sneaky you are or how long you got away with something. Eventually, your poor treatment of others is going to come back to haunt you. Everyone loves a good revenge story, whether it’s about a nasty neighbor or an entitled coworker. But even more satisfying is hearing that someone experienced the natural consequences of their actions. It’s the pleasure we get from seeing a reckless driver who sped past us get pulled over by a police officer. It’s the satisfaction you feel when the city tows your neighbor’s car because they believe they have the right to park in front of your driveway. Ugly actions have ugly consequences, whether they’re immediate or 10 years down the road. You don’t have to like everyone you come in contact with, but you should treat them with a decent level of kindness and respect. You’re not better than someone because of your looks or job status or fancy car. Those material things can be taken from you in an instant, but the way you make others feel will remain for a lifetime. So, be wise in how you treat others, because what goes around will come back around. #JoySceizina #karma #dowhatsright

David Goggins is a role model for many young men. ("Young" compared to me, that is.) I have a lot of respect for Goggins, although I don't follow him closely. (Full disclosure, I did take up a Goggins' push-up challenge last year: https://lnkd.in/gD6Ajz89 ) But this short, recent clip by Goggins really captured my thoughts on the growing number of easily-offended people, especially in social media. The video is in response to a Whitney Cummings' bit about her boyfriend's obsession with Goggins, a bit that I thought was not at all disrespectful, and gotta admit, it made me laugh! Can't help but wonder why so many folks actively seek out reasons to be offended. What a way to live your life. Sigh. I respect everyone's right to be offended by whatever they choose to be offended by. And I reserve the right to think that they are sad people. What could motivate them to do so? If you don't like a comedian's jokes and bits, you don't have to listen. (I scroll past lots of comedians that I don't like; it is amazingly easy to do.) Respecting people who are genuine role models is one thing. But there is something sad and disturbing about grown adults engaging in hero worship - to the point that they get offended on behalf of their heroes - even when their heroes aren't offended! So strange. Life is too short to spend your life looking for reasons to take offense. Do yourself a favor and learn to find reasons to be *grateful* rather than reasons to be offended. Thank you for the reminder. It is always tough to stay with people who do not believe in you and much less in themselves. A reminder, life is short and can be long if you make the wrong decisions and stay with people who fight you down. Just remember, the person that is fighting you down is probably hurting and is lashing out at you. You have the choice to stay and be berated. Tell them they will not be treating you that way and remove yourself. Say nothing and remove yourself, never underestimate the power of silence. You are in control of the choices you make.
