Our year end is September, coinciding as it does with the company’s birthday. This year we reached the ripe old age of 17. We know the debt of gratitude we owe to every one of our colleagues, past and present, who have each helped us to get to where we are today. This year has been no exception, and the efforts of the current cohort has resulted in further expansion, and we have just welcomed 2 new members to the team. Exciting times.
By way of a small thank you we decided to have a day out of the office. A well-earned jolly! The day started with most of us meeting at Monkseaton station before setting off to walk along the coast (as part of active travel week) to Tynemouth. We were even blessed with seeing dolphins off the coast at Whitley Bay. At Tynemouth we descended onto the beach at King Edwards Bay, where we were coached by Claire and her son Andrew to create the new SAJ Transport Consultants and GetMe2 logos, before finishing off with an excellent meal at Rileys Fish Shack. There are worse ways to spend a day.
PS A massive thank you to Claire and Andrew, at soul2sand Sand artist without you it would not have happened.
We are delighted that planning permission has been secured for the new
NETA Training Centre at Stockton Riverside College.
Fantastic work by our colleagues Lewis Walker, in preparing the Transport Assessment, and Ruth Simpson & Flora Woollard in preparing the Travel Plan reports to accompany the planning application.
SAJ Transport Consultants have a vast amount of experience in assessing the impacts of extensions to existing education facilities and recognise that parking is a key interest of the both the Local Highway Authority and the Occupier. There should always be a focus on both planning policy and commercial requirements. Working closely with the College, we devised a clear strategy on ensuring future car parking demands could be accommodated as a result of the proposals, satisfying both planning and commercial needs.
Plans for our new £14.7m NETA Training centre have moved a step closer with planning permission now secured for the development on Princeton Drive. We have been helping to meet industrial training needs for almost 50 years and the new centre, a flagship project of the Thornaby Town Deal, will ensure we continue to respond to the rapidly transforming industrial landscape. Full-time NETA students joining us in the next academic year (2025/26) can look forward to being among the first to train in this fantastic facility. SAJ Transport Consultants are delighted with the successful planning application for the development at St Leonard's Catholic School School. This project, supported by BAM UK & Ireland, has received unanimous approval from the planning committee, and we are excited to see it progress on site.
Our team provided a Transport Statement and Travel Plan to support the application. Additionally, we provided advice on highways matters associated with the proposed site plan, demolition, and construction process.
