GOLCONDE ASHRAM PONDICHERRY, A greatest example of india’s one of the first reinforced concrete building by Architects: Antonin Raymond, Francois Sammer, George Nakashima Trying to understand and decode the form and functionality of the building while also understanding the reasons of having precasted horizontal louvers for the facade and Precasted Double roof system as major elements throughout the building. Depicting the porousness and ventilation along the building with help of model. THERMAL INSULATION PROPERTIES •The roof of Golconde was made up of large and thin precast curved cement concrete, which allowed the air to pass through it. •North and south of these curved precast concrete have holes slabs with holes, which cools the top floor. •Facades on both the north and south were fully openable with louvres with brass bars. If you see the architecture of Golconde, followed the fundamental principles of architecture – Simplicity, Economy, Beauty and Closeness to nature. ATTITUDE TO OPENINGS/LIGHT All the openings on North and South are fully openable faces, horizontal louvers are used to afford protection from direct sunlight and rain while allowing for ventilation. There are ventilated double roof which reduce indoor temp. and louvers works as a solar shading device.

Design for the World's Tallest Wooden Building in Perth Unveiled    Australian architecture studio Fraser & Partners has revealed its design for the proposed 190-metre-tall residential tower named C6 in Perth, Australia, describing it as a "new benchmark in height for mass timber".    Once completed, C6 will claim the title of the world's tallest hybrid timber housing structure. This surpasses the previously proposed 180-meter hybrid timber tower by SHoP Architects in Sydney and Schmidt Hammer Lassen's design for a 100-meter housing block in Switzerland.     Timber is proposed to make up 42% of South Perth’s C6 building, including the tower’s beams, floor panels, studs, joinery and linings. The rest of the building's structure will comprise a concrete core and columns and a steel diagrid.
