Today we had another highly interesting webinar by OAG. This time we had the chance to explore the global air capacity landscape for the upcoming winter season, focusing on the impact of various factors such as fleet shortages, seasonal shifts, and airline performance. Global Growth Trends: - Overall growth for the year is projected to be 6.4% ahead of 2023 and 3.1% ahead of 2019.   - Compared to 2018, global capacity is up only 5.6%, indicating slower growth than expected.   - Asia Pacific and Europe are leading the recovery with over 6% capacity growth versus Winter 2023/24.   - International capacity has decreased compared to Winter 2018/19, now standing at 8.9%—a 27% increase on last winter's levels. Challenges and Disruptions: - Aircraft availability remains a challenge, with 16% of the global fleet inactive and 7% out for maintenance.   - European carriers are responding to market softness, political challenges, and rising operating costs by adjusting capacity.   - Aircraft reliability, particularly for the Boeing 787, is causing increasing concern with rising cancellation rates.

Today, Admiral Group announced our 2024 half-year results, delivering another strong performance in the global market. Group CEO, Milena Mondini, recaps our results offering colleagues, other shareholders, analysts, etc. a look at the Group’s 2024 performance. Some highlights include: ✅ We now have 8.23 million customers insured with us in the UK ✅ Our total customer base increased to 10.53 million across the Group ✅ Group profit is up 32% compared to the 2023 half year result ✅ Approximately 12,500 Admiral colleagues (Canadians included) will receive up to £1,800 in company shares based on these results this fall ✅ The interim dividend per share is set at 71p to be paid to all employee shareholders this fall
