Writing is a mysterious process. At first I just wanted to publish some of my projects on this website. But then it got out of hand, I kept writing and it turned into a blog. Anyway, I'm happy to share my website and with it my thoughts on architecture, cities and landscapes, high art and the mundane, and my curiosity about the poetics of everyday urban phenomena. https://lnkd.in/eFcu34b6

I am very happy that, together with my friend and under the supervision of my esteemed professor, we were able to publish an article titled “The Influence of Culture and Tradition on Landscape Architecture of the Safavid Period.” This article examines the key role of culture and tradition in the formation of landscape architecture during the Safavid period. During this period, landscape architecture, inspired by the rich culture and traditions of Iran, became one of the most prominent branches of art. Our research shows that works of art, traditional architecture, and folk culture have profoundly influenced this architecture. Iran’s prominent role in global civilizations also adds to the importance of this issue. Finally, Iran’s cultural influences continue to define and shape landscape architecture.

When it comes to designing for a warmer planet, modern-day architects may find inspiration not from the latest technology, but from their earliest predecessors: the Sumarians of Babylon. Designing for contemporary challenges is more closely tied to the past than some may think, according to Maryland School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation's Mohammad Gharipour. As the newly elected president of the Society of Architectural Historians, Gharipour aims to inspire others to develop a dynamic view of architectural history that is more than a record of civilization, but a wellspring for innovative approaches and solutions. https://lnkd.in/eKPXvkva
