Ideation is my superpower...but sometimes it bites me in the ass. I can whip up new companies, innovative programs, cutting-edge marketing ideas, or groundbreaking strategies. 💡Some of these ideas are absolute game-changers. But here’s the kicker: not everyone appreciates new ideas. I know. Hard to believe. ⏩ Sure, innovation is the lifeblood of progress, but it can also be met with resistance. Sometimes, people just aren’t ready for change, even when it’s clearly for the better. They cling to the familiar, and suddenly, my brilliant idea is seen as a disruptive force rather than the opportunity it truly is. 🛑 Navigating this pushback can be challenging. It’s a balancing act of pushing boundaries without stepping on too many toes. But the rewards of breaking through and seeing those ideas come to life? Absolutely worth it. How do you balance the need for innovation with the resistance to change in your organization? Leave me a comment below!

Centenary companies are rare gems. Of the hundreds of thousands of global companies, only a few companies reach that mark. I have often wondered, what is the key to building a sustainable and scalable company? Why do some companies grow rapidly and then fail miserably? What is the secret ingredient for sustainable growth that lasts for generations? Is growth a necessity for survival? Well, my grand vision of building a centenary company stemmed from when I was in my thirties, even before Quest Global was born. This led me to read more books and talk to various industry veterans. I even visited several firms that successfully operated their businesses for more than several hundred years in Japan and Italy. Against the background of rising mortality rates, I was intrigued by their longevity, and as an engineer, I was curious and keen to learn more about the secret of their longevity. I wonder if all of my reading and learning is enough or if my ability to implement systems, processes, and values will outlive me for several generations. But I know three things that will help any business thrive over 100 years: (i) Always play the long game with the belief that the best is yet to come (ii) Do the right thing for the clients even at the cost of business, I never compromise on that (iii) Turn setbacks into potentials for rethinking and reinventing ourselves. Resilience is paramount.

Public Service Announcement to my fellow #Innovation #Intrapreneurs... Please stop conducting ideation before you and your internal stakeholders are open to contend with the power of ideas. Ideas have the best chance to deliver the #growth you seek when you first lead conversations that align culture/mindset, capability and a willingness to #adapt to the #change it takes to make it happen. If not... The team might be willing and not able. The team may be both willing and able, but with the wrong mindset. The latter limits you to to the "same old, same old" in the #ideation process. A waste of time and brain power. Doing the work up front produces fertile ground for #Innovation and the cultivation of #ideas that just might lead to your next #disruption.

New ideas are muscle. For companies, teams, and individuals. And when you need a new one, there is no magic moment when it comes to find you. Hope doesn’t create it. Neediness almost repels it. It takes actual building - through deliberate and systematic investment. Starting, volume shooting, backing away, reflecting, doing work in the physical world, rebuilding, and going back to it. Action manufactures new ideas - waiting for some magic moment shuts them out.

Beware of the Transformation Trap! 💥 In the corporate jungle, transformation initiatives are as common as coffee breaks. Yet, the 'miracle cure' mindset - "Introduce this software, and we're golden" or "Finish this project, and we're sorted" - is a treacherous path. Technology, powerful as it is, isn't a magic wand. What will truly take you to the land of success is harmony - between people, processes, and technology. ⭐**People:** The real challenge isn't the sprint - it's convincing your team to lace up their shoes. Employees need to comprehend the 'why' behind the change and feel instrumental to the mission. That's the key to securing their alliance for the marathon to victory. ⭐ **Processes:** Even with enthusiastic team members, without clearly mapped out routes, the mountain remains unconquered. Clear procedures, robust training, and reliable support systems are your guides to ensure a smooth ascent towards implementation and adoption. ⭐ **Technology:** Remember it's just one piece of your expedition gear, not your entire strategy. Successful ventures often start small, with pilot projects which showcase early wins. These baby steps help to build trust and rally support. In the quest for both initial and enduring success, establishing an early balance between people, processes, and technology is pivotal.

The message highlights the significance of embracing change and overcoming fears, recognizing that growth often requires leaving behind familiar comforts. Just as the river does not vanish when it reaches the ocean but instead transforms into something grander, our own journeys can similarly lead to newfound opportunities and personal expansion. The metaphor encourages us to shift our focus from what we might lose to the endless possibilities ahead. So, whenever you're about to embark on something new, don't let anxiety about what you're leaving behind hold you back. Instead, focus on the vast potential that lies ahead—on what you can achieve, create, and become through the process. Every new venture opens doors to experiences, insights, and self-discovery that were previously unimaginable.
