It comprises of 193 sovereign states. 🔸️India is one of the founding members of the United Nations(Signed on 26 Jun 1945). Yoga 🔸️Yoga is a holistic practice that involves Physical Postures (Asanas), Breathing Exercises (Pranayama), Meditation (Dhyana) and Ethical Principles to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. 🔸️It was originated in India and the word “yoga” derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. 🔸️The United Nations proclaimed 21 June (Summer Solstice or the longest day of the year) as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. 🔸️Headstand (Sirsasana) and Shoulderstand (Sarvangasana) are called the King and Queen of Yoga Asana. 🔸️The theme of International Yoga Day 2024 is “Yoga for self and society”.
