About 20-25 years ago some work was done in Melbourne's inner north to improve passenger information on bus Route 508 between Moonee Ponds and Alphington. Remnants of this remain, surviving both Metlink and PTV rebranding. Route 508 intersects many north-south train, tram and bus corridors making it an excellent 'network completing' connector route. Route 508's current frequency is every 15 min peak, 20 min interpeak, 30 min Saturdays and 40 min Sundays but a strong case exists for it to be higher. True Story: The previous manager thought installing a High-Speed Door cost a lot and that a PVC curtain would save more money because it's cheaper. After a couple of years, they changed a new manager, and this new manager realised they were spending so much money on the electricity bills.
