This is spot on! I’ve watched #leaders do this very exact thing and have the same results. It reminds me of what President Truman used to have on his desk. It was a sign that said “The Buck Stops Here” Why does this relate? Well President Truman knew that he was ultimately responsible for the actions of his administration. The applies to so many levels as well whether your a CEO, COO, VP, Director, Manager, etc! As leaders we can do better! One way that I learned to approach similar situations thanks to Dale Carnegie is to do the following: - Begin with praise - Identify the issue, even use self humility while discussing the issue - End with praise Why does this work? You reduce the chance of a conflict and creating tension. It also proves that you too are human and are capable of making a mistake. Let’s make this a year of focusing on being empathetic and understanding. #leadership #leadershiplessons
